Whether you are here on purpose, surfing, or just dropped by for a moment we value your time and effort. With that in mind, I offer you a brief history and overview of UCF, along with a short guide to this site.
A Beginning
UCF is the direct outgrowth of a campus ministry started at Syracuse University in 1992. Students and friends of this campus ministry gathered to form a "different kind" of church in the Westcott area of Syracuse, NY. Some would call us a Gen-X church or whatever, but we are a relaxed bunch who are serious about our relationships with God and each other.
People Who Know Each Other
Relationships define much of the quality of our existence. If there is no _real_ quality to relationships, quality of life diminishes also. That's a taste of what we are about. True friendships, real discussions, relational meetings, lots of fun activities mark our interaction with each other. We think of spending time with God and his people as a conscience choice, not something we have to do.
Our Future
Our vision is to reach out to people in a way that is understandable and practical. To present a post-modern understanding of God and his interactions with us today is the challenge we have undertaken through all we do. Being real, showing love, serving those around us, and just staying in touch help us along the way. If that sounds good to you, then maybe UCF has something to offer you.
What You See....
is what you get. Take a look around the site and see what is going on. We have a publications and documents section to give you the details about who we are and what we believe. There are recordings of church services on-line for you to listen to and see what you think. We also have for you to join for prayer requests, good things God is doing in your life, or just general discussion. Before you leave, definitely find out about knowing God. It's quick, easy, and painless. It even takes a minimal amount of energy to read the page. :-) Just another slacker sensitive feature...
