Our Monthly Rosary continues today as we turn the calendar to September. Join us as we gather in Diocesan Cemetery Chapels. It looks like the weather will have us inside the Mausoleum Chapels this week at these cemeteries. We look forward to praying with you!

May God grant you eternal rest Fr. Fritzen. Thank you for your many years of priestly ministry!

UPDATE: Calling hours have been changed. They will now be held from 9 to 11 a.m. The funeral Mass time of 11 a.m. remains the same.

With deep sadness, we share that Rev. James Fritzen passed away on Monday, August 24 at the age of 82.

A dedicated priest of 57 years, we are most grateful for Father Fritzen's leadership and pastoral ministry over his decades in the diocese. Father served in many roles including Pastor, Diocesan Director of Catholic Cemeteries, Syracuse Fire Chaplain, Associate Pastor and Assistant Chancellor.

On Saturday, August 29, calling hours will be held from 10 to 11am at St. Stephen’s Church, Phoenix. A funeral Mass will follow at 11am.

May God grant Father Fritzen eternal rest. 🙏

A new statue was installed today at St. Mary’s Cemetery in DeWitt to designate a special section dedicated to the Bishops of our Diocese.. Bishop Lucia and Bishop Cunningham joined us to welcome and bless the statue! "He will tend his flock like a shepherd; he will gather the lambs in his arms." Isaiah 40:11

Join us this week as we pray the rosary to honor all who have died. Our special intentions this month will be for all Priests serving in the Diocese of Syracuse!

We will be inside the chapel at Scared Heart, Lakeland today at 2:00 pm!

The Our Lady of Hope Mausoleum Chapel was filled with song and prayer this afternoon as Fr. James Schultz celebrated a sung Latin Mass in honor of the Memorial of St. Kateri Tekakwitha. It was a pleasure to have Fr. Schultz and all who joined us at St. Mary’s Cemetery in DeWitt! St. Kateri, pray for us!

Mass today will be held in the Chapel in Our Lady of Hope Mausoleum due to the excessive heat and advisory that has been issued! The chapel is air conditioned.

Join us tomorrow (Tuesday July 14th) at St. Mary’s Cemetery in DeWitt for an outside Latin Mass in honor of the Memorial of St. Kateri Tekakwitha. Please contact St. Mary’s with any questions 315-446-2649. The map should help you find us in the cemetery. Look for section 50 and then the empty space above that is where we will be. Join us following Mass at Holy Cross Church in Yeazel Hall for some lunch and fellowship! Hope you can join us! St. Kateri, pray for us!
