Hundreds of people gathered at Cemetery Masses throughout the Diocese of Syracuse on Memorial Day to pray for the dead and honor our fallen Veterans. Many thanks to the Priests who celebrated the Masses, the Deacons, Liturgical Ministers and Staff who assisted. It was wonderful to gather in these sacred spaces and we are grateful to the faithful who attended. If you would like to find out about about other opportunities to gather in our cemeteries please contact us to join our mailing list.

Can you read the top of this tombstone?

It features a quote derived from William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, “Death lies on her like an untimely frost upon the sweetest flower of all the field.”

This is the final resting spot of Katherine Guadalupe as it lies in St. Agnes Cemetery.

Katherine was the eldest child of John and Colutta Frisbee. Born in Mexico City in April, 1891, Katherine and her parents soon settled in Syracuse and lived at 301 James Street. A few short years later, Katherine died at the early age of 8 after a battle with meningitis. 🪦
