Hendricks Chapel is kicking off the Malmgren Concert Series season with Boston Brass! 🎺 On Thursday, Sept. 10 at 8 PM, this dynamic group has been delighting audiences since 1986 with a genre-bending mix of classical arrangements, jazz standards, and original brass repertoire. Having performed in all 50 states and more than 30 countries, Boston Brass promises an evening of great music and boisterous fun for concertgoers and newcomers alike. Free and open to the public. ✨ ⭐ ✨ On Wednesday, Sept. 23 at 8 PM, all SU and SUNY-ESF students, staff, and faculty are welcome to attend this very special evening at Hendricks Chapel. SU's university organist Dr. Anne Laver is teaming up with long-time yoga instructor Dara Harper to create a calming sound bath blended with breathwork and light yoga. Please bring a towel, blanket or mat if you'd like to lie on the floor. If mobility is an issue, most of the evening can be enjoyed while simply standing or sitting. No registration is necessary. A new chapter is beginning for Catholic life at Hendricks Chapel. After ten years of faithful service, Fr. Gerry Waterman has departed campus ministry, and two new Conventual Franciscan friars are stepping in to continue that legacy: Fr. Manny Vasconcelos and Br. Nick Romeo. Salaam Shalom is about learning Hebrew and Arabic as an Interfaith Practice.
This four-session credentialed introductory language course is open to all and co-led by the Jewish and Muslim chaplaincies of Hendricks Chapel. The class is intended to provide participants with an opportunity to learn and grow through an interfaith setting. No previous experience in either language is required, as Imam Hamza GΓΌrsoy and Rabbi Natan Levy will provide a welcoming and engaging learning environment for all. Starts Sept 30.
