Greetings brothers and sisters with the love of our Lord Jesus Christ! Peace be on to you!

In this troublesome time, I feel it is my duty as a minister to address you in relation to the coronavirus pandemic. As the number of the infected continues to increase, people around us and all over the world are filled with panic and fear. In my opinion, this unfortunate situation may help Christians to evaluate their trust in the Lord. Those of us who believe in the Lord and dedicated our lives to Him must keep our peace, knowing that our lives are in His hands. The more we rely on God, the safer we feel in trusting Him our next days. The Word of God, His testaments and promises are a major support for us all.

“Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” (Psalm 91:1-2 NIV)

Our heavenly Father assures us that He loves us with an everlasting love, and will not forsake us. “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” (Hebrews 13:5) We must come to Him with faith and prayer. “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28) “…And surely I am with you, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 11:20)

Remember, when we depart from the Lord, we remain without His protection. May the reading of His Word strengthen your faith, for the hope and faith in the Lord grant us with great strength. Strong faith helps us to meet our life problems with courage. I call you to spend time in God’s Word and it will be a source of comfort and peace. Also, take care to spend time in family prayers. Let’s raise our eyes to heaven because that’s where our help comes from. The Lord promised, “if my people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” (2 Chr 7:14)

The Lord is an Almighty Creator and at the same time He is a loving Father. Remain in peace. He protects our lives. At the same time, please comply with the medical recommendations. Let’s keep praying for the healing of those that have been infected with the coronavirus and for those who work with them. And most of all, pray for people to sincerely repent and turn to the Lord, our God.
I wish you peace, comfort, good health and God’s protection!

Sincerely,
Senior Pastor Nikolay Dzyadyk

Dear friend,

This Thursday March 12, 2020, governor Cuomo issued a ban on large gatherings in New York State due to the coronavirus. Gatherings of 500 people are not permitted, and facilities with an occupancy of 500 or fewer need to reduce their legal capacity by 50%.

To protect our people and to comply with the laws of this state, the First Ukrainian Pentecostal Church Board has moved to change the structure of our Sunday worship services.

Starting this Sunday, March 15th, our first worship service will be at 9AM, and I ask older adults who do not have children of Sunday school age to attend. Our second worship service will begin at 12 noon, and will serve those families who HAVE children of Sunday School age. Sunday School will be held during this second service.

We will not hold Sunday evening services except in exceptional circumstances, such as a funeral service this Sunday, March 15th at 6PM.

If you feel ill, I ask you to stay at home and tune in to the webcast of our services at https://www.upc.life/. Weekday church ministries (Monday to Saturday) will continue to function as before.

God has promised to be with His people during uncertain times and I trust He will continue to guide and protect you in all your ways.

May the Lord Jesus richly bless you.

Sincerely,
Vitaliy Batyuk, Pastor

ALSO, President Donald Trump announced a day of prayer this Sunday March 15th. Let’s gather together in prayer during this time to pray for our country in this time of need!
