Join Bishop Douglas J. Lucia on Friday, June 12, at Noon at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception for the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the consecration of the Diocese of Syracuse to the Sacred Heart.
All are welcome.

Bishop Douglas J. Lucia invites the faithful to join him on Friday, June 12th, at Noon at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception as we celebrate the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

At the conclusion of Mass, Bishop Lucia will consecrate the Diocese of Syracuse to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, entrusting our diocesan family, our parishes, our communities, and all who call this local Church home to the loving care of Christ.

Please join us for this special moment of prayer and devotion as we unite our hearts with the Heart of Jesus.

If you are unable to attend in person, the Mass will be livestreamed so that all may participate in this historic moment for our diocese.

A beautiful witness of faith in action - students from St. James School joined students from St. John the Evangelist School and Seton Catholic Central in a Eucharistic Procession through the community, publicly proclaiming their faith and honoring the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist. Moments like these remind us that Catholic education forms not only minds, but hearts rooted in Christ.

“I would like to be remembered for serving at every school Mass throughout my Notre Dame career.” ~ Cornelius “Corny” Deep, Notre Dame Class of 2016. Years later, that spirit of faith and service has led Fr. Deep to the priesthood.

This weekend, the Diocese of Syracuse celebrates the ordination of Fr. Deep, a proud graduate of Notre Dame Elementary School (Class of 2010) and Notre Dame Jr./Sr. High School (Class of 2016). His journey is a powerful reminder of the lasting impact Catholic schools can have in forming faith, leadership, and vocations for the Church.

Congratulations and God bless, Fr. Deep!

Today we remember and pray for the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our nation 🇺🇸 We remember in a special way the military chaplains who served beside them, including Servant of God Fr. Vincent Capodanno, known as the “Grunt Padre,” whose courageous ministry to soldiers in Vietnam remains a powerful witness of faith, sacrifice, and love of neighbor.

May their example inspire us to live lives rooted in Christ through faith, service, and selfless love for others.
