From Abraham’s trust in God to the sacrifice ultimately fulfilled in Christ, Scripture points us again and again to a God who provides, calls, and invites people to follow Him in faith.

Message: Our Wickedness

Our main Scripture is Romans 3:23–24:

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.”

Scripture does not hide the truth about the human condition. Sin is real, and every one of us has fallen short of God’s glory. But that is not where the story ends. The same passage that exposes our need also points us straight to the answer: the grace and redemption found in Jesus Christ.

Message: Honoring the First Relationship You Ever Had

Our main Scripture is Mark 7:10:

“For Moses said, ‘Honor your father and your mother’; and, ‘He who curses father or mother, let him be put to death.’”

Tonight we’ll look at a commandment that reaches deeper than family relationships alone. Jesus’ words in Mark 7 expose what can happen when human reasoning begins to replace simple obedience to God—and why honoring what God has established still matters.

The fifth commandment is rarely discussed, but it is a key commandment among the ten. It is a bridge from a focus on God to a focus on our neighbor and lays the groundwork for many other New Testament principles.

It is the first commandment with a specific promise—a promise that foreshadows the new life under the new covenant through Christ.

The Pharisees seemingly did everything they could not to follow that commandment, going far out of their way to build a workaround. We will study their motivation and how we must be on guard against those same tendencies, which are still so prevalent in the world today.

God calls us to lives of obedience that are productive, faithful, and blessed. Join us tonight as we open the Word together and consider how these truths still speak directly to the way we live today.

Our main Scripture is 2 Corinthians 5:14–15:

“For the love of Christ constrains us; because we judge thus, that one died for all, therefore all died. He died for all, that those who live should no longer live to themselves, but to him who for their sakes died and rose again.”

The love of Christ changes more than how we feel—it changes who we are and how we live. Through Him we are reconciled to God, made new, and given a purpose: to represent Christ in a world that desperately needs to know Him.

The cross of Christ reaches farther than we often realize. It is not only the place where our sins were forgiven, but the center of God’s great work of reconciliation—bringing all things back under the peace and authority of Christ.
