Emotional Distractions Part #2
Our emotions are the very essence of our soul. God designed us to have a resource of expression and sometimes emotional release. Our emotions, and our heart, are intertwined with the shared issues of life. These emotions can distract us from focusing on the important things that work towards our purpose. These distractions will draw valuable energy into fruitless matters, leaving you mentally, spiritually and physically exhausted.
Anger is a healthy emotion if we learn how to control it. James 1:19 Wherefore, my beloved brethern, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger. 20: For the anger of man worketh not the righteousness of God. Uncontrolled anger is the ingredient for disaster, affecting everything in its proximity, which is not limited to a physical location. Proverbs 14:17 He that is soon angry deals foolishly. A person that allows their anger to navigate their decisions can find themselves in a bad place. Uncontrolled anger can spiral you into a spiritual abyss that is hard to climb out of. God's word tells us emphatically, that anger is not a sin. It is our action that determines if anger becomes sin or not. Ephesians 4:26 Be ye angry but sin not, dont let the sun go down upon thy wrath. Have you ever spoke in the heat of your anger and said things that you regret? Anger has a way of releasing our tongue before we process the situation in our minds. Controlled anger will give you a favorable response seasoned with wisdom. Sometimes, the spirit will instruct you not to respond at all. When we yield to the guidance of the Holy Spirit, the fruit of temperance will protect our character. The Bible tells us, let not the sun go down upon thy wrath. If we lay down with anger we are allowing our souls to marinate in toxicity. This will distract you, smother your purpose, and kill your anointing.
It is of great importance, that we do not give into the emotions that anger produces. You have every right to be angry, but dont let your anger distract you from your purpose. Don't allow your anger to assassinate your character. Psalm 37:8 Cease from anger, and forsake wrath; fret not thyself in any wise to do evil. 2 Timothy 2:23 But keep away from foolish and ignorant arguments: you know that they end up in quarrels.
Learn to control your anger, dont let your anger control you.
