🐾🐶 What a paws-itively wonderful evening at North Shore Synagogue! In honor of Parshat Noach, we welcomed so many adorable four-legged friends for our annual Blessing of the Pets! Our furry friends came out to meet new friends, wag their tails, and receive a “Bark Mitzvah”, a special blessing as we celebrated the love, joy, and companionship that animals bring into our lives. Thank you to everyone who joined us and made this such a fun and heartwarming evening! 🐾 🐶🦴🐕‍🦺

What a wonderful way to kick off our first Tot Shabbat of the year! Our youngest friends and their families came together for a beautiful evening filled with smiles, songs, and Shabbat spirit. Rabbi Jaimee and Cantor Steve helped us welcome Shabbat with music and blessings, followed by a delicious dinner and a fun craft for everyone to enjoy! We loved seeing so many happy faces and families celebrating together. We can’t wait for our next Tot Shabbat on November 20th at 5:30 PM.

Rabbi Shalhevet joined Supervisor Joseph Saladino and other clergy, for a small and meaningful memorial at Plainvew Park in honor of all those who were murdered on October 7th. Joining with politicians and fellow clergy was a very meaningful part of her day. That evening, Rabbi Shalhevet and Cantor Hevenstone joined clergy and people from all over the Island to hear the immensely traumatic story of Or Levy, an October 7th survivor who was taken hostage on that day by Hamas and kept in captivity for 491 days. May there be peace in our time. Amen.

What a wonderful evening celebrating Simchat Torah at North Shore Synagogue! It was a night filled with joy, music, and tradition! We danced with the Torahs to the lively sounds of our klezmer band, unrolled the entire Torah around the room, heard the ending and beginning of the Torah, and helped change the Torah covers from white back to their beautiful colorful covers. The celebration continued with a festive Oneg, candy apples, sweet treats, and lots of smiles!
