Avarice (Greed) begins when we believe that having more will finally make us secure.

But Jesus reminds us:

“Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.”

When we trust our Father, we no longer need possessions to give us peace.

Meditate on this today:
Where do I look for security — in what I have, or in the God who provides?

Envy begins with comparison.

When someone else shines…
something in us whispers:

Why not me?

Envy doesn’t just want what others have.
It grieves their success because it makes us feel smaller.

But the gospel tells a different story.

Your worth was never meant to come from achievements, possessions, or recognition.

Your worth comes from the Father who calls you His own.

When we rest in that love, comparison loosens its grip.
And we become free to rejoice in the good God gives to others.

Meditate on this today:
Can I thank God for the gifts He has given someone else?
