Our Security Planters Are Blooming Again!
A huge thank you to the incredible team of volunteers who have transformed our security planters into beautiful spaces that welcome everyone to Midway Jewish Center.
Over the past week, dead shrubs were removed from all 30 security planters, and many have already been replanted with colorful annuals and perennials that will provide beauty throughout the seasons. Special thanks to Saul Schessler, Jon Klimazweski, Rich and Renee Katz, Lew Bartell, Teri & Jay Fields, Stew and Helene Fleisig, and Barry Shapiro for their hard work, dedication, and love for our community.
We’re also excited that our organic vegetable garden is returning! Tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, eggplant, and more will be grown to help support families experiencing food insecurity.
A special shout-out to Lew Bartell, who lovingly nurtured 60 canna plants from seed for our planters, and to the many Sisterhood and Men’s Club volunteers who w**d, water, harvest, and help fund these beautification efforts throughout the season.
This is what community looks like: neighbors coming together to create beauty, grow food, and care for one another.
Thank you to everyone who gives their time, energy, and generosity to make Midway flourish.
