This week’s TT comes from Romans 7:18 “For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) nothing good dwells; for to will is present with me, but how to perform what is good I do not find.”

Going back to our Sunday Morning School chapter Romans 7, Paul addresses that the law cannot save us from sin and he went on to explain the inner conflict between the flesh and the Spirit. This goes back to Galatians 5 and our 40 days. Galatians 5:17 states, “For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish.” Because of Jesus’ sacrifice, as believers, sin does not have power over us. Jesus took care of sin for us but in our humanness, we will still struggle with it. In our flesh we still have weaknesses. We still sin, but we don’t have to let it overcome us. No good thing dwells in our flesh; that’s why we have to walk in the Spirit so we won’t fulfill the lusts of the flesh.
