We looked at Genesis 25:12–34 and the story of Esau selling his birthright to Jacob. Esau treated something incredibly valuable as if it were ordinary, trading a lasting blessing for a temporary desire.
This passage challenges us to examine how we view God and the things He has given us. Just as Esau failed to recognize the value of his birthright, we can sometimes treat God, His presence, and His promises as something casual or ordinary. We were reminded to approach God with reverence and gratitude, recognizing the immeasurable worth of what He has given us.

Today in our Genesis series, we came to the final chapters of Abraham’s life in Genesis 23–25:11. Following Sarah’s death, Abraham purchased a burial place in Canaan, taking hold of a small piece of the land God had promised to his descendants. Even in grief, Abraham continued to trust that God would fulfill His covenant.
We also saw Abraham send his servant to find a wife for Isaac, and God faithfully guided him to Rebekah. As Abraham’s life came to an end, we were reminded that God’s promises did not end with him. Abraham’s story is one of faith, trust, and God’s faithfulness across generations—and the covenant continues through Isaac.

Today in our Genesis series, we looked at Genesis 20–21 and saw both the faithfulness of God and the weakness of people. Abraham once again acted out of fear and told others that Sarah was his sister, but God protected Sarah and remained faithful to His covenant. In chapter 21, after years of waiting, God fulfilled His promise through the birth of Isaac, showing that what God promises, He will accomplish in His perfect timing.

Today in our Genesis series, we looked at Genesis 18–19 and saw both the mercy and justice of God. God reaffirmed His promise to Abraham, while also confronting the wickedness of S***m and Gomorrah.
Through these chapters, we’re reminded that God is patient and compassionate, but He also takes sin seriously. Even in judgment, we still see God making a way to rescue those who trust Him.

we looked at Genesis 16–17 and saw both the struggles of human impatience and the faithfulness of God’s promises. Abram and Sarai tried to take matters into their own hands with Hagar, but God still remained faithful even in the middle of their mistakes.
In chapter 17, God reaffirms His covenant, changes Abram and Sarai’s names to Abraham and Sarah, and reminds them that His promises are fulfilled through His power, not human effort.

Today in our Genesis series, we looked at Genesis 15 and God’s covenant with Abram. In the midst of doubt and waiting, God reassures Abram of His promise and declares him righteous because of his faith. It’s a reminder that our relationship with God is built on trusting Him, even when we don’t see the full picture. God is always faithful to keep His promises, even when the timeline doesn’t match our expectations.

Today in our Genesis series, we saw conflict arise between Abram and Lot, leading to their separation. Abram chose humility and trust, giving Lot first choice, while God reaffirmed His promise to Abram.

After Lot was taken captive in a regional war, Abram rescued him and refused the king of S***m’s reward, choosing instead to honor God and trust in His provision

Today in our Genesis series, we began focusing on Abraham and God’s promise to make him and his family great following the Tower of Babel. As Abraham steps out in faith, we also see that his journey isn’t perfect—there are real struggles, doubts, and missteps along the way.

When famine came, Abraham chose fear over trust and told Pharaoh that his wife was his sister. This moment reminds us that even those God calls can stumble, but God remains faithful to His promises and continues to work through imperfect people.
