Orthodox parents want their children to be able to talk about the Faith with confidence, but it can feel overwhelming because parents are learning as they go.
This is the relatable topic addressed in a recent Faithtree Resources podcast featuring program host Michelle Moujaes in conversation with a ninth-generation Antiochian priest, father, and grandfather Fr. Constantine Nasr, pastor emeritus of St. Elijah Church in Oklahoma City. In the episode "How to Raise Children Who Can Share Their Faith With Confidence and Joy," the two answer common questions asked by conscientious parents: "What do we say when someone asks about Mary, the saints, confession or the sign of the cross?" "How do we help our children share the Faith without making it feel like they have to argue or have every answer?" "How do we make the Faith an act of joy rather than of obligation?"
In this conversation between Faithtree's Michelle Moujaes and Fr. Constantine, he encourages parents with a simple, and natural principle: children learn the Faith first by watching it be lived out in the home.
