Jerry Lee Federer, Jr., 53, passed away on Saturday, November 29th, at his home in Sylacauga, Alabama. He was born on July 7, 1972 in Cullman, Alabama. For most of his career, Jerry was a licensed (CDL) driver. His skilled driving for Childersburg Fire and Rescue helped to save many lives. Jerry was a friend to many in the community, and was loved in return. He was a big man with a bigger heart. An active member of the Elks Lodge and Moose Lodge, he delighted in calling the Bingo games in his own animated way. A man of faith, Jerry was baptized at Desperation Church in Cullman and was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church, Sylacauga. Jerry knew no strangers, and was quick to strike up a conversation. He was preceded in death by his mother, Bracie June Vance Federer, his father Jerry Lee Federer, Sr., and his sister Jerri Ann Federer. He is survived by his sisters Bonnie Bibb (Jerry) and Sheron McDaniel, and his former wife Gail Federer, and his nieces and nephews.
There will be a Celebration of Jerry Lee’s life held at First Free Will Baptist Church 50 Kings Road Sylacauga, Alabama 35151 on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at 1:00 PM. Graveside services for immediate family will be held at the Vance Family Cemetery in Jones Chapel, Alabama, at a later date. Jerry’s family would like to express gratitude to Dr. Rachel Rosado and Dr. Imad Khdair for their diligent and compassionate care. Contributions in Jerry’s memory may be made to the First Free Will Baptist Church, Sylacauga, or a charity of your choice.
