CCW members, make sure to check your email for the latest newsletter!

Join us for our next monthly gathering on September 10th, held in the Parish Auditorium at 7pm (doors open at 6:45 pm). We look forward to our first small group breakout session with our Catholic Bible study!

Wet weather didn't dampen our spirits as we had a fantastic turnout at our CCW Kickoff! It was so nice to see familiar faces and to meet new women who took part in food, fellowship, and an overview of the year ahead. We enjoyed a very inspiring and informative presentation by Rethreaded - a Jacksonville-based organization that provides peace, purpose and skills development to survivors of human trafficking. Their boutique was full of delightful handmade items crafted by survivors. We were able to support this fine program and purchase with a purpose. We're off to a great start! Our first "regular" monthly gathering begins Sept 10th at 7 pm in the Parish Auditorium. We'll begin our small group study and we'll take part in a toiletries drive for the nonprofit Port in the Storm. Details will follow by email. CCW welcomes all women of the parish aged 18 and over for growth in spirituality, service, leadership, and friendship. It's never too late to join us or simply check us out. May We Be Channels of His Peace!

Join us this Thursday, August 20th at 7 pm (doors open at 6:45 pm) in the Parish Auditorium as we kickoff a new year of Council of Catholic Women (CCW)! Our theme this year is "Make Me a Channel of Your Peace." We'll have food, fellowship, an overview of our service projects, details about our new Bible study, and we'll feature a presentation by Rethreaded - a local organization that gives peace, purpose and skills development to survivors of human trafficking. Rethreaded will bring a fantastic mobile boutique of handcrafted items that we know you'll enjoy checking out. CCW membership renewal and/or information will be available. Whether you are a renewing member or just wanting to check us out, we welcome you! CCW encourages all women of our parish aged 18 and over to join us. May we all be channels of His peace!

Part of beating the summer heat was taking a break from cooking and meeting up at The Loop on July 16th! It was great getting together for dinner and conversation. Thank you to all who took part. It was a joy to meet several new ladies who joined us. Kudos to The Loop for letting us move tables to accommodate such a nice turnout!

The good times were rolling last week, and for a great cause! Thank you to all who took part in Ladies Bunco to benefit our outreach fund. This fund supports Hugs for the Homeless as well as other local charities and some parish ministries. Congrats to our Bunco prize winners too! We are Anchored in Hope!

Join us this Thursday, June 11th at Ladies’ Bunco at 7 p.m. in the Parish Auditorium (Doors open at 6:45 pm). Come roll with us as we have fun for a good cause - your support will build up our Outreach Fund which helps support parish ministries and charities in our area. You might walk away with one of the Bunco prizes! This is a cash-only event - members pay $10 and non-members pay $15. New to Bunco? No worries - we’ll explain the rules of this easy game! Please feel welcome, but not required, to bring an appetizer or dessert to share. CCW welcomes all women of the parish aged 18 and over. We hope to see you there!

We celebrated 10 years of CCW at San Juan Del Rio Parish at our May 14th gathering! The evening began with our Mary Crowning Ceremony. Afterwards author Lisa Palmere spoke on Hope: A Catholic Woman’s Anchor which was an exclamation point to our year focusing on being Anchored in Hope. Lisa distributed a scripture sheet with key points of her talk, as well as anchor keychains blessed by Father Peter. The evening concluded with a walk down memory lane with a video projection of SJDR CCW photos from over the past decade. Past CCW Presidents Jennifer Clark and Kelly Walsh were recognized. Joanne Ligmanowski and Jennifer Clark were recognized as the longest continuous serving members of our affiliate. Thank you ladies, for your dedication, wisdom and the continuity you’ve provided! A nod to Anita Thaxton who gave each attendee a beautifully decorated cookie with a rosary decoration on top! What a beautiful evening! Our next event will be Ladies’ Bunco on Thursday, June 11th at 7 pm (Parish Auditorium doors open at 6:45 pm). This cash-only event will benefit our charity outreach fund. As always, all ladies of the parish aged 18 and over are welcome to take part. We are Anchored in Hope!
