This week we had the joy of hosting around 100 kiddos for Music Camp. Music Camp is always a lot of fun and certainly a bit chaotic! There is something special about getting to spend a week with kiddos as we testify to the Good News of Christ.
In Psalm 71 David writes “O God, from my youth You have taught me, and I still proclaim Your wondrous deeds. So even to old age and gray hairs, O God, do not forsake me, until I proclaim Your might to another generation, Your power to all those to come.”
David makes note of the Lord’s presence in his life as a youth and ask that His wondrous deeds continue, so that even in his advance aged he can proclaim the Lord to future generations.
David’s Psalm declares the importance of testifying to the younger generations. As we get older, grayer, or maybe balder (like me), we should use our testimonies of God’s works to proclaim to the younger generations their need for Him. Wisdom truly does come with age, but the greatest wisdom is an understanding of the need for Jesus.
This Sunday we will continue our series called “Testify” as we will hear from another church member. What I love about this individual is that they clearly are testifying God’s goodness to the younger generations. I pray you will plan to join us for another inspirational Sunday.
