Easter Monday always feels a little quieter.

Yesterday we sang the big songs, filled the sanctuary, and shouted the good news: Christ is risen. And today, the world goes back to work, the dishes are still in the sink, and the alleluias are a little softer.

But Easter Monday reminds us of something important. The resurrection is not just a Sunday celebration. It is a Monday morning reality. It lives in ordinary days, in small acts of kindness, in showing up for work, in caring for neighbors, in loving our families, and in doing the next right thing.

The risen Christ walks with us not only in the sanctuary, but on the road, in our homes, in our classrooms, in our hospitals, and in our small towns.

Easter isn’t over. Not at all.

Located in the heart of the Sweetwater Historic District, we are a small, friendly and loving church family. We invite you to worship with us on Sundays at 11 a.m. 601 Church Street Sweetwater, TN 37874 All Are Welcome!

Lent 2026 // Easter Sunday

God of unbounded joy,
God of undying love:
the women went to the tomb
to tend to the crucified dead
and came back the first preachers
of resurrection.
As we come back from our tomb today,
and begin to live again,
may we deliver with unbridled joy
what the world is dying to hear:
that death is never the end;
that love remains what is most divine;
and that you continue to live
in the beating heart of our humanity.
Amen.

Lent 2026 // Saturday 4 April

God of grieving,
God of silence,
there is a strange gift in having time,
one whole day this holy week,
to sit with questions of why and how long
and to hear no response at all.
To rush from Friday to Sunday,
from death to resurrection,
wouldn’t do either justice.
Nor would it dignify the life of those
whose daily pain and grief
and constant pleas for justice
go unanswered in the world’s daily rhythm.
Let your silence fill this silence,
until our empty noise dies out.
Amen.
