Well here it is. The Saturday night before Easter Sunday and maybe you haven’t been to church in a while. Maybe it scares the daylights out of you. Maybe you think people will judge what you wear, where you sit or who you are now or who you used to be. The truth is everyone you encounter in church tomorrow has been in your shoes, Everyone has been on a path of messed up, tore up and broke down. And we all are terrified at people knowing who we truly are way down deep in our most secret places. But, what if this Sunday were different? What if you looked not for the eyes of people but into the eyes of Jesus who says “Come to me all who are weary and heavy laden and I will you rest” Bring yourself scattered, broken and bruised. Bring your shattered heart and crushed spirit and busted up emotions. The sin, the darkness and fear stand no chance in the glory of the risen Jesus. What frightens you will be swallowed up in his love and victory. And when you see Jesus all that you’ve done before, won’t matter anymore. You’ll never be the same again.
