Juneteenth Observance @ Wesley AME – Come honor and celebrate Juneteenth alongside our neighbors at Wesley AME.

Open Table Saturday @ Chester Eastside – Join us this Saturday to help serve and support our local community.

School Supply Collection 2026 – We are officially collecting school supplies to set local students up for success this fall. Drop off your donations by the August 2 deadline!

🌸 New Summer Worship Series: Consider the Lilies 🌸

Life moves fast, and it is easy to get caught up in the daily hustle and worry. This summer, we invite you to take a breath, step back, and realign with what matters most.

Join us at Swarthmore Presbyterian Church for our new summer series, "Consider the Lilies," running every Sunday from June 21 through September 6 at 10:15 am in the Sanctuary.

Inspired by the Sermon on the Mount, this series is an invitation to examine our anxieties, simplify our lives, and invite the Spirit to loosen our grip so we can truly entrust our hearts and minds to God.

Whether you are in town or traveling, you can worship with us:

🚧 Upcoming Roof Repairs at Swarthmore Presbyterian Church 🚧

Starting next week, we will be beginning important maintenance repairs on the SPC roof. Please take note of the following details to ensure everyone stays safe:

📅 When: Beginning Monday, June 15. The project is expected to take approximately three weeks.
🚪 Building Access: Access for worship and daily operations remains completely unchanged. The Sanctuary doors, church office entrance, and Fellowship Hall doors will all be open and fully accessible.
🚗 Parking Lot Safety: We ask that you please proceed through the parking lot and surrounding areas with extra caution. Be on the lookout for equipment, work materials, and potential falling debris.

We have a busy and exciting week ahead at Swarthmore Presbyterian Church! From summer kickoffs to important campus updates, here is everything you need to know:

⚠️ IMPORTANT CAMPUS ANNOUNCEMENT
Repairs to the SPC roof begin Monday, June 15, and will take about three weeks.

Access: All doors (Sanctuary, church office, and Fellowship Hall) remain open and fully accessible for worship.

Parking: Space in the SPC lot will be limited. Please use extra caution around the property due to work materials and equipment.

📸 Say Cheese, SPC! 📸
Be a part of history this Sunday, June 14! Immediately following morning worship, we are gathering on the Sanctuary lawn (Harvard Ave.) for an all-church photo.

This isn't just any photo—it will be our official contribution to the Swarthmore Community Time Capsule, commemorating the nation’s 250th anniversary! We want to make sure everyone is represented in this snapshot of our life and witness together.

🗓️ The Details:
When: Sunday, June 14 (Right after worship)

Where: Sanctuary Lawn on Harvard Ave.

How: Photographer Betty Ann and Kenny (with a drone!) will give some quick directions. The whole thing will only take about 10 minutes!

🎉 Bonus: Sunday is also our Volunteer Appreciation Sunday & Summer Kickoff Picnic! Come for the photo, stay for the celebration and community.

☀️ Save the Date: Volunteer Appreciation & Summer Kickoff Picnic! 🍔
On Sunday, June 14, we are wrapping up our program year with a double celebration, and the entire Swarthmore Presbyterian Church family is invited!

⛪ Part 1: Volunteer Appreciation Sunday
When: 10:15 AM

Where: In the Sanctuary

What: We pause during worship to give thanks and ask God's blessing for the countless hours, energy, and love poured out by our amazing volunteers. To our teachers, music makers, ushers, tech crew, committee members, kitchen helpers, and everyone working behind the scenes—thank you!

🧺 Part 2: Summer Kickoff Picnic
When: Immediately after worship (11:15 AM)

Where: Fellowship Hall & the Courtyard

Cost: Suggested contribution of $5 per person / $10 per family

Parish Life is firing up the grill with burgers (including veggie options), hotdogs, and drinks. The playground will be open for the kids, and we can’t wait to share a meal together!

🥗 Potluck Details (By Last Name)
To help round out the buffet, please bring a family-sized picnic dish in a ready-to-serve bowl or platter based on your last name:

A–G: Bring a Dessert 🍰

H–S: Bring a Salad or Side Dish 🥔

T–Z: Bring Fruit, Chips, or Pretzels 🥨

🔥 PENTECOST IS COMING! 🔥

Join us this Sunday, May 24, as we celebrate Pentecost and the gift of the Holy Spirit moving through our lives! We have a beautiful, energy-filled morning planned for all ages, celebrating the rich diversity of our community.

Here is what’s happening:
⛪ Lord’s Day Worship: * 8:00 AM in Loeffler Chapel

10:15 AM in the Sanctuary (Featuring a dramatic reading with our children and youth!)

☀️ All Church Picnic & Drum Circle: * 11:15 AM in Fellowship Hall

Enjoy a great meal together, followed by a community drum circle led by Eric Berley! No experience needed, all skill levels are welcome, and instruments will be provided. (Suggested contribution: $5 per person / $10 per family).

🎈 Don't Forget: * Wear RED to celebrate the flames of the Holy Spirit!

Weather permitting, we’ll head out to the Harvard Avenue lawn at the end of worship to sing, dance with bubbles and silks, and drum together.

This is the perfect Sunday to invite your friends, family, and neighbors. We can't wait to celebrate the joy and rhythm of our faith together!
