The Good Shepherd flock celebrated with EJ at last night's Baccalaureate Service filled with prayers, hymns, and thoughtful words of praise and reflection.

May the Lord be with the Class of 2026 as they step into the next chapter of their lives.

A prayer on Memorial Day. 🙏
Oh God, we remember, mourn, and give thanks for those in the military who gave their lives for justice, peace, and the freedom of our country and all nations. We pray for their families and all who are grieving. In your name we pray. Amen.

Before it was a holiday weekend, Memorial Day was a sacred act of remembrance.

In the years after the Civil War, people gathered in cemeteries to decorate the graves of soldiers with flowers and prayers. The observance became known as “Decoration Day,” eventually growing into what we now call Memorial Day.

Today we remember not only history, but people:
Beloved children of God whose lives were cut short by war.

We pray for peace in our world and comfort for all who grieve.
