St. Matthews Charge The St. Matthews charge is a group of three small churches spread across St. Matthews. We seek to follow Christ in responding to God's will for our home.

Matthews Charge of the United Methodist Church is composed of three churches in and around St. Matthews, South Carolina. Included are West Bethel UMC and Mt. Zion UMC on Old State Road/ Highway 176 just between St. Matthews and Sandy Run, and East Bethel UMC is oustide of St. Matthews toward Santee just off highway 6. Our congregations are loving and welcoming, and they love to serve their local a

nd global communities. Visitors are always welcome to come join in with any of our various weekly activities. Service times are Sundays at 8:30 am at East Bethel, 10:00 am at Mt. Zion, and 11:15 am at West Bethel.
