As a young boy, I remember my mother listening to “The Breakfast Club.” Don McNeill was a master host as he held court each day over the ABC radio network from his studio in Chicago. McNeill organized the hour show into segments which he called “the four calls to breakfast.” As he neared the close of each broadcast, he would issue his well-known declaration, “Last call for breakfast.”
This is the last call, not for breakfast or even “The Breakfast Club.” It is the last call for this year’s Fall Campaign, “Empowered by God — Responding by Grace.”
Is a Fall Campaign really appropriate in view of the COVID-19 pandemic? Will people respond, especially since many churches throughout the nation have been closed or severely restricted in their activities?
Only you can determine what is best for your church, but I would encourage you to think about having a Fall Campaign this year. As all of us work to return to “normal” (however you define that term), a Fall Campaign can be a stabilizing factor in the life and ministry of your church. As you consider the possibility of using a Fall Campaign this year, please keep this in mind: Churches which utilize Fall Campaigns receive more consistent financial support and more support per person than those that do not.
Bottom line: It’s not too late to use our Fall Campaign in 2020. Please visit our website, www.klwenterprises.com and click on “Fall Campaign for further information and for the Fall Campaign Questionnaire. Then complete the Questionnaire and return it to us by fax, e-mail or surface mail. The cost can be billed or paid by credit card. It is not necessary to send payment now.
One more thing: Due to the pandemic, we have waived all late fees this year. The price you pay will be the price that was in effect for Questionnaires returned prior to July 1.
As Don McNeill might say it, “Last call for this year’s Fall Campaign.”
