Thomas “Thom” Andrew Masse, 62, of Warren, Rhode Island, passed away unexpectedly on May 30, 2026. He was the loving husband of Susan Lynne (Garich) Masse and son of the late Raymond and Juliette (Blais) Masse.
Thom was a kind, steady, and faithful man whose life reflected love. The Lord, family, and love of country were at the heart of his life. He was known for his humility, kindness, and servant's heart. Those who knew him will remember the comfort, peace, and consistency he brought simply through his presence.
A faithful member of Abundant Life Church in Swansea, Massachusetts, Thom's faith in Christ guided his life. He found strength, purpose, and hope in the Lord. His greatest desire was that others would know salvation and the same comfort and assurance in Jesus Christ that sustained him throughout his life.
Thom spent more than twenty years in the plumbing industry and was respected for his knowledge, strong work ethic, and ability to fix just about anything. He enjoyed NASCAR, annual trips to Loudon, gardening, and caring for his yard. Above all, Thom cherished his family. His thirteen grandchildren were among life's greatest blessings and brought him immense joy.
In addition to his parents, Thom was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Peter Garich. He is survived by his beloved wife, Susan; his brother, Normand Masse, and sister-in-law, Patty Masse; his daughters, Devon Alston (Tyler) and Siobhan Niquette (Joey); his stepdaughters, Rachel Badalyan and Elisabeth Rutkowski (Russell); his stepson, David Rutkowski (Lindsey); his niece, Kayla Masse; his nephew, Timothy Masse; and his cherished grandchildren, Wesley, Evahn, Kennedy, Quinn, Morgan, Edgar, Micah, Christian, Ave, Noel, Dawson, Sawyer, and Elleana.
Thom is now in the presence of the Lord he trusted and loved. His life will be remembered with gratitude, faith, and love by all who knew him.
Family and friends are invited to gather from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 11:00 a.m. on June 26, 2026, at Abundant Life Assembly of God, 135 New Meadow Road, Swansea, Massachusetts.
This will be a true celebration of Thom's life. Casual attire is encouraged—yes, even shorts. To honor Thom and the things he loved, guests are invited to wear Hawaiian, NASCAR, or hockey shirts. Following the service, all are welcome to stay for a barbecue as we share memories, fellowship, and celebrate a life well lived.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made through the family's GoFundMe page to support Sue during this difficult time:
