What a full and joy-filled night in our youth ministry!

This week, our students stepped into the story of Holy Week - starting with Palm Sunday and the excitement of “Hosanna,” moving to the table where Jesus gives Himself in love, and looking ahead to the hope of Easter. We talked about how Jesus doesn’t always meet our expectations, but He always meets us with grace, presence, and love.

And then… we celebrated!

We had special musicians lead us in worship and we shared in Holy Communion. Afterward, things got competitive with an egg hunt (yes… there was money on the line), Easter games, and our crowd-favorite “Youth Scoops” station!

We are grateful for a night full of faith, laughter, and community, and for students who are asking big questions and showing up with open hearts.

This week, our students explored two powerful truths about faith.

In Confirmation, we talked about salvation - not just as a moment, but as a lifelong journey of God’s grace. From the very beginning, God is pursuing us, offering forgiveness, restoring relationship, and shaping us into who we were created to be.

Our older students wrestled with a different but connected idea: Jesus as the host who becomes the meal. At the table, we see a Savior who doesn’t wait for perfection, but meets us in our mess, serves us anyway, and invites us to do the same for others.

Two lessons, one message: we are invited into God’s grace - and called to live it out.

Big congratulations to our 6th & 7th grade small group - this year’s Trunk or Treat Challenge winners! All of our groups did an amazing job, but these students really knocked it out of the park with their creativity and teamwork.
To celebrate they made a special trip to Jeremiah’s for ice cream!

Last night, we learned about the Wesleyan Quadrilateral as we talked about Romans 12:2 - how God wants to renew our minds so we can discern what’s good and right.

John Wesley, who started the Methodist movement, believed that God gave us minds on purpose. He said our faith should always be shaped by Scripture, tradition, reason, and experience; these are all ways in which God speaks to us. So, when we’re faced with a tough choice: what to post, who to stand up for, how to spend your time, how to live with insecurity, we can ask: What does God’s wisdom say? What’s the most loving thing to do? What will help me grow?

We ended the night with a challenge: Any time we're about to make a decision - big or small: pause and pray one sentence.

"God, help me think faithfully."

This is Student Ministry at Level Creek UMC!

Sunday night our small groups worked hard on their trunks for our Level Creek UMC Fall Festival. Each group has been challenged to create a trunk for the trunk-or-treat. Each trunk will be judged and the winner will get to go off campus for ice cream at our November 2nd meeting!

This is Student Ministry at Level Creek UMC!

On Sunday night, we talked about stuff. When Jesus talks about wealth and possessions in Scripture, He isn’t just warning about money - He’s really inviting us to think about what we value most.

God calls us to seek heavenly treasures - things like love, generosity, justice, kindness, and faith - because those shape us into people of Christlike character.

God desires for us to grow into people who reflect Christ... people who care for others, live generously, and stay rooted in faith. Storing up treasure in heaven is a lifelong journey, and each step helps us reflect Christ more fully in our daily lives.

Up next: we’ll talk about how living with integrity is the key to developing real confidence before God.

Yesterday, we celebrated a BEAUTIFUL Youth Sunday!

Youth Sunday is a special day where the wider congregation is invited to see, hear, and celebrate the gifts and voices of our youth. It allows our young members a chance to take leadership roles in worship which helps them develop confidence and a sense of purpose in their faith journey. Yesterday was a perfect reminder of God’s work in every generation.

Our theme for the morning was the Gift of Love. We continued that theme in the evening by writing notes to be mailed to those who we want to remind that they are loved and cared for.

We love our Level Creek Youth and are SO proud of each and every one of them!

Scenes from the LCUMC Student Ministry Progressive Movie Night!

A HUGE shout-out and thank you to the Okuda Family, the Atkinson Family, and the Caldwell Family for being AMAZING hosts!

The goal of events like these, besides obviously having a great time, is congregational connections. Our objective is to help make connections with congregational members that the youth see on Sunday mornings in worship but might not otherwise interact with in a meaningful way.

We couldn’t be more thankful for our Level Creek UMC congregation and how they show up for our youth!
