Members of our Suwanee Worship Center family are preparing to leave for Guatemala on Wednesday, June 3rd, for a week of service, learning, and spiritual growth with CEDEPCA. The team, co-facilitated by Rev. Dr. David Bowie and Erik Mjorud, will return on Wednesday, June 10th.

While there, the team hopes to help with water filtration projects, participate in reforestation efforts, visit health centers and schools, and build meaningful connections with the people and communities they encounter along the way.

The photos shared are from the team’s commissioning service at Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church, where Erik Mjorud is a member. We’re grateful for the support and partnership of Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church throughout this effort.

Please join us in praying for the team and the communities they will encounter - for safe travels and protection, meaningful relationships, and opportunities to serve, learn, and grow together in faith.

And sometimes the hardest part of faith is following God’s will instead of our own plans.

But there is peace in surrender, purpose in obedience, and strength in knowing we don’t walk alone.

May we be people who seek God’s direction more than our own desires.
