Victory Bible Camp

Victory Bible Camp Victory Bible Camp exists to evangelize and disciple children, youth and adults in Alaska for Jesus Christ through Christian camping!

Victory Bible Camp rest at the base of the Talkeetna Mountains along the river valley of the Matanuska River. From this retreat 95 miles northeast of Anchorage, the staff of Victory faithfully serves thousands of people yearly from Alaska and beyond. The grounds provide a rich combination of natural beauty, modern conveniences, and activities that help campers and guests gain a fresh focus on the relationships that are part of their lives, including the most important relationship, the one they have with God.

We are so excited to be hosting Arctic Barnabas Ministries for their Ministry Family Retreat!

Arctic Barnabas serves missionary families all across Alaska and is bringing them together this week for a time of encouragement, refreshment, and fellowship with others who understand the unique challenges of ministry in Alaska.

As Victory staff, we are excited for the opportunity to host and serve these families who give so much to serve others.

In fact, ABM says, “Isolation is one of the greatest challenges of ministry in remote Alaska. More than the cold, long winters, supply shortages, mosquitoes, or dangerous wildlife, the ministry families they serve consistently say that loneliness is the hardest part."

Would you pray with us that these families will be refreshed, encouraged, and strengthened during their time here? We are thankful for the opportunity to play a small part in caring for those who spend their lives caring for others.

There has been a lot happening behind the scenes as we prepare to build Spruce Chapel!

One of the big decisions was where to rebuild. The new location will be closer to Miracle Lodge—which meant there was just one little problem… there was a mountain in the way! 😄

So, the mountain had to move!

Working with professionals, we’ve begun the process of breaking up rock and hauling out dirt to prepare the site for the new building.

We’ve already been blessed by volunteers who have given their time and equipment to help us get this huge undertaking underway. We are so thankful for the many people who are helping make this project possible!

Stay tuned—we’ll continue sharing updates as progress is made!

We are loving the fall look and feel around here as the leaves change and the weather turns!

With the change of seasons comes a change in our ministry season, and our Outpost students arrive today! We are so excited to welcome them and begin a year of discipleship, growth, and ministry together in this beautiful setting.

They’ll have a full schedule ahead as they partner with us to host guest groups and retreats throughout the year along with their class schedule. We’re also blessed to have several other young people joining us for the year to serve alongside our team.

There’s lots happening at Victory this fall, and we can’t wait to introduce you to everyone in the posts to come!

While summer camp may be over, there is still plenty of fun to be had with the horses!

Horsemanship Academy gives students the opportunity to learn, grow, and experience the joy of working with horses in a hands-on educational setting.

We only have a few spots left for this fall, but if those dates don’t work for you, spring dates are coming—so it’s not too early to start planning!

DID YOU KNOW that one of Victory’s original purposes was to bring missionaries together for encouragement and fellowship?

John Gillespie, one of Victory’s founders, wrote:

“From our first summer in Alaska in 1941 we realized that the independent missionary force in Alaska was made up of a fragmented group of missionaries, each working in their area with little contact with one another, and no coordinated plan for reaching Alaska as a whole.”

So it brings us back to our roots to host InterAct Ministries https://interactministries.org/) for their annual missionary conference—and this year, they are celebrating 75 years of ministry!

We love being able to provide a place where missionaries can connect, encourage one another, and get refreshed.

It’s a privilege to see one of Victory’s original purposes continuing today!

Still deciding what's next for this fall?

Consider Victory's Outpost program for 18–22 year olds!

Outpost combines biblical teaching, practical hands-on ministry, and intentional discipleship to help you grow in your walk with Christ while serving alongside others.

Spend the year learning more about who God is, how He has gifted you to serve the body of Christ, and what burdens your heart as you seek His direction for the future.

Applications are due August 17, so don't wait!
