I just wanted to update - that there is a box of potatoes, can food, mac n cheese and other food items in the Care Chest. The Hope Closet has a few clothing items and toys. It is all free to anyone in need.. God Bless 🙌

Attention!!

If you are in need of help for Thanksgiving Dinner...
Second Harvest Food Bank

Has partnered up to give out Thanksgiving food boxes.
You do not have to show proof of income or anything
You just give your name, address and phone number

The food box will feed 4, and will have a turkey breast, gravy, stuffing and all the sides.

The deadline to apply is Nov 21.

Of One Accord Ministry building at 306 East Main Street Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Church Hill Emergency Service Food Pantry, located at 401 Richmond Street in Church Hill, on Mondays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

In Sneedville, applications can be made at the Shepherd’s Corner, located at 164 Jail Street in Sneedville, on Monday and Wednesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Distribution will take place on Saturday, November 22 with lineup beginning at 8:30 a.m. Distribution begins at 9 a.m. at Cherokee High School in Rogersville, the regular food distribution at Church Hill Emergency Service Center and at 9 a.m. at Hancock County Middle/High School, located at 2700 Main Street in Sneedville.

At the 1st of November SNAP benefits will be shutdown and I know there will be a lot of families struggling especially the ones with children and i dont want to see anyone going hungry i feel like the good lord is leading me and I know in my heart this is the right thing to do. We have been blessed to have partnered with The Homestead Shoppe the owners Scott and Stacy Taylor have offered to help pay for meals i know its not much but its what we can offer , so starting Sunday November 2nd anyone that is struggling to have a meal we will take care of you we will do this until the benefits are restored We are offering a meal for DINE IN ONLY NO TAKEOUT One meal per person No questions asked just have a seat and tell the waitress you want a Homestead Community Special ! If there is anyone that would like to donate anything we would be thrilled to have it!! I have had several people message me already wanting to donate funds to help purchase items for meals. We will have a donation jar at the diner and here is what apps we use if you want to use these!

The Hope Closet is Open. It is located at First Free Will Baptist Church of Surgoinsville- It is in the parking lot against the fence.
The Hope Closet was placed heavily on our Pastor, Daniel Sutherland and the churches heart. It will provide coats, jackets, winter clothes, socks, hats, gloves, blankets and more. Come take what you need- like a coat, blanket or food.
Please take only what you need- and Give what you can. This is ran on donations. So if you have any winter items- please place it in the Hope Closet. We ask that you leave the hangers.
We always need food/drink/personal care item donations for the Care Chest.
The Care Chest and Hope Closet is open 24/7. It is self serve- no forms or applications needed.

Cold weather is quickly approaching. We are holding a Winter Coat & Jacket drive. The coats and jackets can be gently used or new. You can also donate gloves, blankets, socks or anything God places on your heart to help someone in the upcoming winter months. If you have anything to donate, please send me a message or drop it off anytime at the church. The Harvest Closet is being assembled and we will announce when it is up and running.
