We have been having a great summer. So many great activities to keep us all busy and engaged. We’ve had gem mining, a bounce house, a petting zoo, a foam party, Planted by the Sea, and the Horry County Bookmobile. We have Happy Feet Soccer and P.E. every week ❤️And the summer isn’t over yet!

This morning’s National Weather Service forecast and models for Hurricane Helene indicate that Horry County is under a tropical storm warning and could see wind gusts up to or in excess of 40 MPH winds on Friday morning. Due to safety concerns about transporting students on school buses Friday morning, a decision has been made to hold an eLearning day for our students and staff on Friday, September 27, 2024.

Again, all schools will be closed but will operate with an eLearning day for all studentsand staff.Students who are unable to participate due to power outages, lack of a computer device or internet service, or other barriers will have the opportunity to complete assignments at a later date. School staff will communicate directions to students regarding eLearninglater today.All extracurricular competitions (athletic and other extracurricular) scheduled forFriday,September 27, 2024, willor have beenrescheduled.

All HCS employees will work remotely, with the exception of school-based nutrition services staff, paraprofessionals, and bus drivers. School-based nutrition services staff, paraprofessionals, and bus drivers will not report to work but will be allowed to make up the day based on schedules provided by their supervisors.
