As the leader can't be present this week, there will be no Wednesday evening Bible study on Sept. 9. James Swanson brought the Sunday morning worship service message on Sept. 6 but because of technical difficulties it does not look like I will be able to upload it. I've tried more than once but it works for hours without uploading and it doesn't display correctly.

As part of the Olive Hill Church's 150th birthday celebration held on Aug. 23, Gloria Schlaefli read a poem she had written about the church she has long attended.

Weather was perfect for Day One of the two day celebration marking the 150th anniversary of the Olive Hill Church. The event continues on Sunday with Sunday School at 9:30,Worship Service at 10:30 followed by a furnished lunch. Steve Lewis brought the morning message August 9 at the Olive Hill Church. Had a little panic at the start as he couldn't find her sermon notes but all ended well. The congregation will celebrate the founding of the church in 1876 with special activities on Aug. 22 and 23 including a special musical program on Saturday Aug. 22. The Olive Hill Church has always been a country church as it was never part of a village although it was once across the road from another church and the materials from that building and the original Olive Hill building were used to construct the present church building about 100 years ago. All are invited to join in the congregation's observance of the church's 150th anniversay. Come enjoy a tremendous musical program and good food and learn about the history of the Olive Hill community and church.
