구세군 사관의 하루일과를 소개해드립니다.
지난 토요일은 구세군 사관으로서 참으로 고되고 분주했지만, 동시에 마음 깊이 보람이 가득 찬 하루였습니다.
나의 하루는 새벽 5시 30분, 영문(교회)에서 시작되었습니다. 오전 6시부터 7시 반까지 새벽기도회를 인도한 후, 곧바로 스콧 밸리에 있는 구세군 여름캠프장으로 차를 몰았습니다. 그곳에서 아이들 5명을 모셔 와 영문에서 기다리시던 부모님들과 차근차근 일정을 맞추었습니다.
오후 2시에 예정된 장례식을 앞두고는 전할 메시지를 마지막으로 점검하고, 순서지 200부를 정성껏 접었습니다. 조기 및 필요한 모든 용품을 준비한 뒤, 예배에 함께 참석하실 어르신 부부도 직접 모시러 갔습니다. 장례 예배에서 저는 예배를 인도하며 말씀을 전했고, 정애란 사관님은 아름다운 찬양 "동방의 그 문(The Eastern Gate)"으로 참석한 이들의 마음을 위로해 주셨습니다.
어르신들을 댁까지 안전하게 모셔다드린 후, 다시 사무실로 돌아와 주일 설교를 준비했습니다. 그리고 저녁에는 100명이 넘게 모인 대가족 모임에 참석하여 생일 축복 기도회를 인도했습니다.
쉴 틈 없는 일정으로 몸은 몹시 피곤하고 지쳤지만, 모든 일 속에서 그리스도의 심장을 품고 주어진 사명에 최선을 다해야 함을 다시 한번 가슴 깊이 새긴 소중한 하루였습니다.
A Day in the Life of a Salvation Army Officer
Last Saturday was a truly demanding yet deeply fulfilling day as a Salvation Army officer. My day began at 5:30 AM at the Corps, leading the early morning prayer service from 6:00 to 7:30 AM. Afterward, I drove up to The Salvation Army Summer Camp at Scott Valley to pick up five children and coordinated with their parents at the Corps.
Before heading to a 2:00 PM funeral, I reviewed my message one final time, folded 200 programs, prepared the flags, and gathered all necessary supplies. I also picked up a senior couple to join us. At the funeral, I led worship and delivered the message, while Major Aeran beautifully sang "The Eastern Gate."
After safely dropping off the seniors at their homes, I returned to the office to prepare my Sunday sermon. In the evening, I attended a large family gathering of over a hundred people to offer a birthday prayer. Though physically exhausted from such a relentless schedule, I was deeply reminded to keep Christ's heart in all things and give my absolute best to my mission.
