Connecting Journeys at the Vale

What can I say about a church that loved me and my family so well over these last 5 years? What can I say to adequately express my gratitude for the people in Connecting Journeys - past and present - who have had such an incredible impact on my life? I'm so thankful for the opportunity I had to teach the class. God put me in a unique situation so that while I was fulfilling His purpose in serving as a teacher, He was immersing me in scripture. He was revealing Himself to me day by day and week by week through Bible study, prayer, and through deep fellowship with other believers. I'm so grateful for the accountability, and for the great discussions. I'm so grateful for the willingness to bear one another's burdens. I'm so grateful for the willingness pf people in the class to not just pray for me on Sunday, but to literally walk through life with me. Whatever Connecting Journeys may have received from me, I assure you that I received much more from Connecting Journeys. You will always have a special place in my heart because of the way that God used the class and the people in it to help me learn and grow. I love you all, and I see the way that God is working in your lives. Be encouraged! Keep pushing ahead! Keep your eyes focused on Jesus. Continue to know God and make Him known. May God bless each one of you, and may His name be glorified in everything you do.

Painting with a Potluck with these amazing ladies was a success. I would like to thank Lisa Ransom from painting with a twist who put these kits together, her husband Brian for coming to meet me to make sure I knew what to do, our voluntold teacher Nickie Austin, Jason Austin for coming to turn on the fans 🙂, Lisa in the office for printing a few things for me, all that brought food, and especially each one of these women. It’s also awesome that we have a wonderful church that lets us use this space. Let’s also not forget those families at home that let us have a night off.

Christmas part day has arrived. We have set up going starting at 5 pm and we would like to plan to eat between 5:30 and 6. After that you know what time it is 🙂. If y’all want to grab an extra friend tell them to grab a white elephant gift and come join us (they don’t need to bring food).

Just a reminder that if you have any of these items on hand, please bring them on Sunday. This is for a family in Amanda and I's neighborhood whose house was damaged in a fire. They are in a hotel and in need of clothing and a few basic items to help them until they can get back on their feet.

I was asking everyone to be looking for a family in need who we could help, and I found one. The details are in the email, but the short version is that there was a family in our neighborhood who had a house fire. There are 4 adults and 3 little girls. While they figure out how they will recover, they have some immediate needs for clothing and hygiene items, as well as some other essentials. They are staying in a motel at the moment. I've started a box for them that I would like to deliver ON SUNDAY afternoon. I know it's short notice, but they are in desperate need, so I don't want to delay. We'll add whatever donations we get to what I've already purchased, along with a New Testament and a card from the class.

I've already purchased a few things which are listed in the email - outfits for all of the girls, shirts for the adults, underwear for the youngest girls, socks for the older girl, razors, shaving cream, toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, and baby soap.

I'm attaching the full list of what they've asked for. Please help if you can. Again, I'm trying to get this to them on Sunday!
