Mr. Fields was an Educator, Veteran, Deacon, Devoted Husband, Father and Grandfather.

He also engaged life as an Athlete, Coach and Mentor to young men at North Central in Chatom & Leroy High School (LHS).

Family and Friends of Mrs. Ella Mae Fields Bettis are invited to attend a “Celebration of Life “, by her children, Berman Bettis, Patricia Hutson, Zaundra Bettis and Jesse Bettis, on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at the Jackson High School Auditorium, 321 Stanley Drive, Jackson, AL 36545. All guests are asked to wear a mask during the service and maintain social distance to ensure everyone’s safety.

Final services are entrusted to Andrews Funeral Home, Jackson, AL.

This is a difficult update for me because Mrs. Ella Mae Fields Bettis is such an iconic figure from my childhood. Much more than a cousin, she’s an authentic legend to us all. May peace be upon her family, our extended family and the entire community that she touched as we celebrate her life. 💐

Mrs. Holcombe was an Educator and Devoted Wife and Mother who positively influenced her community. We diligently pray for the Holcombe-Fields families now and in the days to come.

Sister Tena Fields Dillard has assumed cemetery mowing and trimming duties as a labor of love from her late father, Mr. Joe S. Fields, Senior. Although she asks for nothing, we are highly appreciative of her efforts at maintaining our sacred grounds in the woodlands.

Conversely, some of us who live far away also feel a natural desire to preserve the final resting grounds of our loved ones. Since we can't be there to assist with mowing, trimming and bagging, we still want to help and do so in a fundamental way.

Although Tena will continue doing this vital work freely and welcomes physical assistance when and if you're in Sunflower, please feel free to support 2021 maintenance by way of sharing any contribution at hand to the following mailing address:
