Happy Pride Month!

Do you know the word โ€œmerismโ€? Itโ€™s a literary device wherein two bookends are used to encompass a whole, and it is used often in Scripture. โ€œGod created day and nightโ€ is a merism. Itโ€™s not just meant to include noon and midnight, but also dawn, dusk, and everything between. โ€œCare for the orphan and the widowโ€ is a merism. Itโ€™s not just meant to include those two specific groups, but tells us to care for everyone, from young to old and inbetween. โ€œAdam and Eveโ€ is also a merism. Scripture names two ends of a spectrum of humanity, but the spark of the Divine appears in ALL people - the full rainbow betwixt and between the two ends of the spectrum. We celebrate the beautiful diversity of merisms, and LOVE, in whatever shape love takes, this month and every month! โค๏ธ๐Ÿงก๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’–

A prayer for Memorial Day: Almighty God, our heavenly Father, in whose hands are the living and the dead, we give you thanks for all of your servants who have given their lives in the service of our country. Grant to them your mercy and the light of your presence, that the good work you have begun in them may be perfected, through Jesus Christ, your Son, our Lord. Amen.

We had an extra special performance on this lovely Sunday morning by Saint Anneโ€™s Choir and fire artist Matia Ignites. Here is the full video. This piece, by Judy Gattis Smith, is titled โ€œA Duet for Pentecost.โ€ Thank you all for making this happen.
