Worrier or Warrior?
These two words contain a couple of constants in the w and r letters. But it's the little vowels that change the tone of each word. This picture is from a strong storm that moved through the Devil's Tower area mid August 2024. The clouds became dark, almost a black gray combo. The wind stepped up to true Wyoming form. Tennis ball size hail was expected, and it did hit around the tower causing extensive damage and even requiring the tower to close for a day to get the debris and damage taken care of. The worrier in us was concerned about the damage that was coming and what it would cost to fix everything. The warrior in us decided to hide all the vehicles and pray. The old phrase "every cloud has a silver lining" became evident. We couldn't worry about what might happen, but we did need to prepare for a storm if it came. Matthew 6:34 says "Therefore, take no thought about tomorrow, for tomorrow will take thought about the things of itself. Sufficient to the day is the trouble thereof." God came through, the storm hit a mere 2 miles north of the RAM Center and we only had a couple dead limbs fall to the ground. The silver lining of the cloud reminded us that even though the storm could have been bad, the sun was still going to be there. Life happens fast and hard, storms come and go; become a warrior not a worrier. Fight through the storms and focus on the silver lining. 1 Peter 1:21 says "Through Him you believe in God who raised Him up from the dead and gave Him glory, so that your faith and hope might be in God." You will never be exempt from the storms, but coming with a warrior heart instead of a worrier's heart changes the outcome of the storm.
