This verse reminds us who God is. He is the eternal King, the Ancient of Days, and the Defender of His people. He reigns over all things and is worthy of our worship, gratitude, and praise.

“Great is the Lord, and highly to be praised, and His greatness is unsearchable.”
Psalm 145:3

Hymnology Season 7 continues with O Fount of Love, a modern hymn written by Matt Boswell and Matt Papa. This hymn reflects on the saving work of Christ and the blessings that belong to all who are united to Him by faith.

Through Christ’s death, the price for sin has been paid, the curse has been defeated, and those who were once slaves are now welcomed as sons and daughters of God. This hymn reminds us of the grace that is ours through Christ and the hope we have because of His finished work.

The cross is where the justice of God and the love of God meet perfectly in Christ. The price for sin has been paid, the curse has been defeated by the Lamb, and those who were once slaves are now welcomed as sons and daughters through faith in Him.

“Christ redeemed us from the curse of the Law, having become a curse for us.” — Galatians 3:13

Sin blinds us to the glory of God, yet His holiness remains unchanged. There is none beside Him. He alone is perfect in power, love, and purity.

These words remind us that true worship begins with seeing God rightly and responding with humble worship.

Hymnology Season 7 continues with “The Old Rugged Cross,” written by George Bennard in 1912 after reflecting deeply on Christ’s suffering and sacrifice. This hymn has remained beloved through the years because its message never grows old. Christ crucified is still the sinner’s only hope. As we sing of the rugged cross, we’re reminded that Jesus willingly bore our sin so that all who trust in Him would be forgiven and brought near to God.

Hymnology Season 7 continues with “Come, Christians, Join to Sing” by Christian H. Bateman. Written in the 1800s, this hymn calls believers to gather together in joyful praise to the Lord.

There is something encouraging about hearing the church sing together. As we lift our voices to God, we are reminded of His faithfulness, His grace, and the hope we have in Christ.

“Let everything that has breath praise Yahweh. Praise Yah!” Psalm 150:6

Christ is our King, and He is worthy of praise. When the church gathers to sing, we are joining our voices together to worship the One who sits on the throne. He saved us, brought us near, and has given us every reason to rejoice in Him.

“Great is Yahweh, and greatly to be praised” Psalm 145:3

We once walked in darkness, but through Christ, God has brought us into His light. Even as we struggle and grow, the Holy Spirit is still at work in us, shaping us to reflect Christ in the world. May the Lord continue to break through our darkness and help us walk faithfully in His truth.

“For at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light.” Ephesians 5:8
