[41] Israel are called to imitate Yahweh | Deut 10:18-22 | J Fourie

In this message we will look at the importance of the call for Israel as a nation and as a people to imitate Yahweh in His justice. God is a God of justice, judgment, and equity and the people of Israel are called to act in a like manner loving those who are vulnerable and weak such as the orphans and widows and the strangers among them.

They are also called to fear the Lord, to serve Him, to hold fast to Him, and to take oaths in His name!

Not only that but Israel were also called to give a pure and undivided devotion to the living God! He chose them and they were to respond in faithfulness and reverence. Lastly, God shows His faithfulness through Moses by reminding Israel that they were 70 people and they are now a very vast number!

The Biblical Mary [An Example of Faith & Worship] | Luke 1:39-55 | J Fourie

In this message, we look at the biblical example of Mary! We look at her character, piety, faith, and desire for worship of the one true God. Mary was chosen as a vessel to bear the Messiah, and when approached by the Angel Gabriel, she is alerted to the fact that she will have a Son, and shall call His name Jesus. She goes from her house to the House of Zacharias, and there she meets with Elizabeth to rejoice. Amazingly, Elizabeth confirms many truths that were relayed by the Angel Gabriel, and so Mary goes into a magnificent praise of the Almighty God! The Biblical Mary is a wonderful example to any woman of faith! She knows her need for redemption and salvation and believes that God will provide that. She is also found back in Jerusalem after the Lord Jesus Christ ascended to be at the right hand of the Father in power, praying, worshipping, and praising the Lord God Almighty.

As believers we need to start living lives of faith and dependence through the Lord Jesus christ! We see here in James 2:19 that the demons believe and know that God exists yet they tremble before God. The Bible believing church today needs to begin to tremble before God in order to live in His power.
