Bethel Christian Reformed Church Bethel Christian Reformed Church At Bethel, we’re about discovering ways to experience life in all of its abundance. Come join us.

And we want to share the fullness of life with you. Jesus is the one who promised this life so we believe he is the one who gives it freely to all who believe in him. So we’re seeking to know Jesus more by:
* Studying the Bible,
* Talking with God in prayer and worship,
* Loving God and our neighbors,
* Learning to serve each other, and
* Day by day bowing humbly to God’s will at work, at home, at school, in our whole lives. We are a diverse ministry with English and Spanish congregations. We also sponsor a community center and a program helping young people enter the college world. Let us enjoy the abundance of life together. Limited atonement, not an easy doctrine to underestand/belive, but our elder David Perez is doing a great job teaching it. Right on dude!

"If the doctrine of limited atonement teaches that Jesus died only for a specific group rather than all humanity, how does this reconcile with God's justice and love?"

The debate generally breaks down into two main views:
The Reformed/Calvinist View (Particular Redemption): Proponents argue that if God treated humanity purely on the basis of strict justice (fairness), no one would be saved because all have sinned. Salvation is seen as an act of mercy, not a debt owed. In this view, limited atonement guarantees the actual, effective salvation of the elect rather than just making salvation a theoretical possibility for everyone.
The Non-Calvinist View (Universal/Unlimited Atonement): Opponents (such as Arminians and Provisionists) argue that limiting the scope of Christ's payment conflicts with scripture emphasizing God's desire for all to be saved (e.g., 1 Timothy 2:4, 1 John 2:2). They maintain that God's justice requires an offer of salvation that is genuinely available to all people.

Join us this Sunday at 12:00 PM as Elder David Perez leads our study on the Doctrines of Grace. We hope to see you there!

As humans we have voluntary will to act on our desires, but we lack the freedom to choose spiritual good without God's grace.
