Learned about a great community resource today: IN PERSON Memory Cafe (Fourth Tuesday of every month) 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at 17420 N. Avenue of the Arts in Surprise (a Salvation Army site). Memory Cafés provide an outlet for people living with memory loss and their care partners. Caregivers participate in an educational and/or support session while people with memory loss actively participate in a cognitive engagement program. The café is provided in partnership with Banner Sun Health Research Institute, Banner Alzheimer’s Institute, Benevilla, Sun Health Wellness and the Alzheimer’s Association.

We extend our sympathy to the family and friends of Betty Shults, who died at home this week following a health decline. We are thankful for her family who cared for her so lovingly and through their efforts, were able to support her living at home. Per Betty's request, no services will be held. Please surround her family and friends with your prayers. Betty's artistic gifts and deep faith will be long remembered and cherished. Did you know that Fred McFeely Rogers, a.k.a. Mister Rogers of Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood, was an ordained Presbyterian minister? After graduating from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, he was commissioned by the United Presbyterian Church of the U.S.A. (UPCUSA) to continue his ministry through children's television programming.
Mr. Rogers went on to revolutionize children’s TV, becoming a quintessential childhood figure in the lives and hearts of millions. This week, we celebrate his memory and legacy. March 20th is Happy Mr. Rogers Day!
