On Sunday, May 10, 2026, Trinity United Methodist Church dedicated new offering plates to the glory of God and to the service of Trinity United Methodist Church.

These one-of-a- kind offering plates were handcrafted by our brother in Christ, Brian Jackson. He carved and turned them from black cherry wood harvested from western North Carolina, finishing each with three hand rubbed coats of oil.

An IHS symbol was laser engraved in the center of each plate. The IHS is a Christogram, or monogram, represents the holy name of Jesus.

In their wood, we see the beauty of God’s creation; in their form, we see wood shaped by the elements of nature over time; in their craftsmanship, we see how they have been shaped by the discipline of an artisan’s faithful hands; and in the IHS symbol burned into them, we are reminded of the holy name of Jesus the Christ.

These offering plates, handcrafted by Brian Jackson, are given to the glory of God and for the ministry of the Trinity United Methodist Church faith family.

May these gifts always remind us that everything we have comes from God. Let them be signs of our commitment to love, to serve, and to give generously to the glory of God as they support the mission of Jesus Christ throughout the world.
