Jesus’ Passion
Scripture: John 4:1-8

👉 Jesus Passionately Pursues The World (v4)

On one hand, Jesus didn’t have to go through Samaria. There was another, well known path Jews could take to avoid the Samaritans. On the other hand, Jesus had to go through Samaria because that’s where His Father was at work , and He joined Him there (Read: John 5:19).

There is no person, nowhere who is too far out His reach, His compassion and His love.

👉 Jesus Freely Offers New Life (vs 13-14)

The woman at the well was drinking from a source that could never truly satisfy her life. What we’ll do you drink from that has you coming back again and again?

Life change doesn’t have to wait. It can happen in a moment with Jesus.

👉 Jesus Graciously Removes Our Shame (v15-18)

Jesus doesn’t bring up our past or present pain to shame us. But before He will replace what’s old with what’s new - He wants to address what keeps getting the way of Him being a priority in our life.

Remember, unaddressed pain has a way of disputing our life. To get past it or to move beyond it. You have to expose it and bring it into the light (Read: 1 John 1:6-9)

👉 Jesus Powerfully Restores Our Purpose (v25-30)

We can’t come to know Jesus for who He truly is and walk away the same. While Jesus meets us where we are, we won’t leave us as we are. Her encounter with Jesus led her to lead an entire village back out to Him.

❤️ Vision Unites Us As A Church

Vision is what we rally to as a church as we walk together and work together toward what God is doing and inviting us to do alongside Him.

God’s plan is greater than our plan. He is actively at work and invites us to follow Him into what He is doing and wanting us to experience by faith. (Ref. Jeremiah 29:11-14, 1 Corinthians 1:10)

🧭 Vision Guides Us As A Church

Vision is what directs our actions and how we make decisions as a church. If it doesn’t line up with vision, we won’t do it or we stop doing it.

God is always at work around us. We actively join Him in what He is doing by going, giving, and serving Him as we serve others (Ref. Ephesians 5:17, Philippians 2:3-5)

🔥 Vision Ignites Us As A Church

Vision is what we actively invest our efforts into as our faith gets expressed though our love for God, for people, for our city and for the world.

We actively live this out 🚶by our values:

👉 We are a church of Faith
We can’t please God without it (Ref. Luke 1:37; Hebrews 11:1-6)

👉 We are a church of Prayer
We know everything begins, ends and is sustained by it (Ref. Luke 11:9-10, Philippians 4:6)

👉 We are a church of Vision
We focus on where we’re going more than where we’ve been (Ref. Habakkuk 2:2-3, Proverbs 29:18)

👉 We are a church on Mission
We pour everything we have into everything we do (Ref. Matthew 28:19-20, Colossians 3:23)

👉 We are a church of Compassion
We meet people where Jesus met people (Matthew 9:36, Matthew 15:32)

👉 We are a church of Integrity
We serve Jesus and His Church with character and accountability (Proverbs 4:23, Jeremiah 17:9)

👉 We are a church of Diversity
We are building a church that looks and sounds like Heaven (Acts 2:4-5, Revelations 7:9)

👉 We are a church of Hospitality
We invest in and invite new faces and new families to sit with us (Acts 2:46-47, Romans 12:16)

👉 We are a church of Community
We don’t think anyone should do life alone (Acts 2:42-44, Hebrews 10:23-25)

👉 We are a church of Generosity
We value what you give, do and invest as a part of the family (Romans 12:3-11, 1 Corinthians 12:4-7; 27)

This Sunday, August 30th is Vision Sunday. Come out and join us at 10AM. After 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting and asking God to refresh, renew and revive our relationship with Him and with others. This is a timely message.

Girls Ministries is a discipleship group that has a legacy of godly women coming alongside girls, guiding them on a path to become mature and godly women. The goal is simple: To see every girl moving toward a deeper relationship with Jesus, and to realize her importance and potential in the kingdom of God.

What an amazing and moving service yesterday! God has promised us the power and presence of the Holy Spirit to be with us and to empower us to be an effective witness to others of His goodness, compassion, mercy and forgiveness.
