"Proclaiming with Purpose"
Jesus declared, "Let's go to the neighboring villages so I may preach there too. This is why I have come."

He knew His purpose with crystal clarity.

While not all of us are called to preach from a pulpit, we are all called to proclaim β€” to be heralds of the King.

The word "kerussō" means to act as a messenger, to share good news.

As Pastor Chris shared on Sunday, Charles Spurgeon's life was transformed when an unnamed substitute preacher simply repeated the words, "Look to Jesus."

That simple proclamation changed the course of history for Spurgeon and countless others.

You may not feel eloquent or prepared, but God can use your willingness to point others to Christ.

"What can I share?" β€” Your testimony, your life, your words.

Someone in your sphere of influence needs to hear about the hope you've found.

Don't ever underestimate the power of simply saying, "Look to Jesus."

REFLECT: Who in your life needs to hear about the hope you have in Jesus, and how can you share that this week?

Way to be a blessing this morning, Bethel! You provided breakfast for 35 folks from Mauldin Methodist Church who are in town on a mission trip, helping with Summer Restore through Sumter United Ministries. The two crews are replacing roofs in the community this week.

Your generosity through our Acts 1:8 Fund helped fuel their work as the hands and feet of Jesus today. They started their morning with a sausage biscuit, granola bar, juice and fruit.

"Seeking His Presence, Not Just His Power"
Jesus could heal diseases and cast out demons simply with a word, but He warns us against seeking Him only for what He can do rather than for who He is.

Many came to Jesus seeking quick fixes β€” healing, comfort, provision β€” but He calls us to something deeper: A relationship.

Are you seeking Jesus as your Lord and Savior, your King, or merely as a cosmic problem-solver?

His power doesn't flow into lives of rebellion; it starts with submitting to His authority.

True transformation happens when we seek His presence above all else and desire Him more than His blessings.

The power of the resurrected Christ is available to those who first acknowledge who He is and surrender completely to His lordship.

REFLECT: Am I seeking Jesus for what He can do for me, or for who He is?

"Recognizing Christ's Authority"
When Jesus encountered the demon-possessed man in the synagogue, even the spiritual underworld recognized His authority.

The demon knew exactly who Jesus was β€” "the Holy One of God."

What's striking is that Jesus didn't need elaborate rituals or formulas; He simply commanded, "Be silent and come out," and the demon obeyed.

Remember, there is coming a day when every knee will bow to Jesus β€” in heaven, on earth, and under the earth.

The question for us today is not whether Jesus has authority, but whether we recognize and submit to it.

Are there areas of your life where you're resisting His lordship?

True freedom comes when we surrender completely to the One who has all authority and power.

REFLECT: In what area of your life do you need to more fully submit to Christ's authority?

"Living Intentionally for Christ"
Jesus didn't accidentally end up in Capernaum β€” He deliberately chose to minister in a bustling trade center filled with both wealth and brokenness.

He left the comfort of Nazareth to step into the spiritual trenches where people were hurting.

This challenges us to examine our own lives: Are we living intentionally for Christ, or are we simply going through the motions?

Following Jesus means leaving our comfort zones and stepping into places where we can make an eternal difference.

Today, ask God to show you where He's calling you to minister.

It might be uncomfortable, even scary, but remember β€” He goes before you and provides everything you need when you step out in faith.

REFLECT: What comfort zone is God asking you to leave so you can follow Him more faithfully?
