The end of of 2026 season is upon us and we closed it out with Rev. Carl Shepard preaching and the Racing City Chorus providing the special music for the day. It was a great way to end a most wonderful year in the Hollow. Now we start the process for planning for the 2027 season. I hope everyone enjoys whats left of summer and we’ll see you next year at Beard’s Hollow Church.

This coming Sunday will be our last service for the 2026 season. We have had the most delightful summer here in the Hollow and I’m sure this week will be no different when we have our own Rev. Carl Shepard take over the pulpit duties for the last Sunday in August, as he has done for many years. Please join us.

The 4th Sunday at Beard’s Hollow Church had Friar Peter and Sister Anna of Bethany Ministries taking over the pulpit, preaching on God and Caesar and to whom do we owe what. Friar Peter brought along his violin which is always enjoyable to listen to. It made for a delightful and engaging service.

Beard’s Hollow Church has another great service lined up this Sunday when Friar Peter Chepaitis, OFM, from Bethany Ministry in Middleburgh joins us yet again. And “yes” he will be bringing his treasured violin for us to enjoy. Sister Anna will be accompanying Friar Peter but the bulk of the service will be performed by Peter. The theme of the service will be “God and Caesar”.

It was another beautiful day at Beard’s Hollow Church and each week brings a different perspective on our Christian faith. This week we were honor to have Pastor Jake Chipka of Delmar Reformed Church preach.

This is the day God has made and it was a most beautiful day in the Hollow. About 60 people attended to today’s service to hear Jan Herrick give an uplifting and timely sermon, “You are the salt of the earth”. Special music was provided by Scott Barton. And afterwards we had a picnic on our picnic grounds behind the church and then our summer business meeting. You could not ask for a more perfect summer day in upstate New York.

Our 2nd Sunday Service is coming up this Sunday with Jan Herrick preaching, as she always does. Jan always provides a service that uplifts and brings insight to the listeners. 

Immediately following the service, we will have a Brooks Barbecue chicken picnic in the picnic area behind the church. We will provide the chicken and drinks and we would ask that everyone to bring a dish to pass and your own place setting. Of course there is no charge for the picnic.

Following the picnic, the Beard’s Hollow Society Board of Directors will have their summer business meeting.

Please plan on attending this wonderful gathering in the Hollow. Hymn Sing begins at 10:30am with the worship service starting at 11am. All are invited and welcomed.

It was an emotional day in the Hollow as we remembered our President Benjamin Frisch who passed away this winter in a tragic accident. Performing today’s service was Pastor Thomas Davis from the Community Church of Howes Cave who delivered the sermon “Why do bad things happen to good people?” It was a fitting tribute to one who we lost all so soon.

Our prayers of peace to all who are grieving.
