Join us for Selichot: Round-Robin with the Clergy at Temple Sinai! ✨

On Saturday, September 5, Rabbi Glazer, Rabbi Gluck and Cantor Fair will lead us through three meaningful sessions exploring Jewish texts connected to the themes of the High Holidays. Participants will rotate through each session, offering a unique opportunity to learn, reflect and prepare for the Days of Awe together.

Today is Tu B’Av, the mystical Jewish Day of Love. Originally a post-biblical day of joy, Tu B'Av served as a matchmaking day for unmarried women in the Second Temple period. The Talmud tells us that many years ago the “daughters of Jerusalem would go dance in the vineyards” on the 15th of Av, and “whoever did not have a wife would go there” to find himself a bride. The Mishnah describes Tu B’Av as one of the two happiest days of the year (with the second being, surprisingly, Yom Kippur). In recent decades, Israeli civil culture has promoted festivals of singing and dancing on Tu B’Av. On this day of Ahavah, feel free to celebrate with your loved one by going on a romantic night out, a gift of a flower, or just enjoy some quality time together. Chag Samei-ach!

Happy Pride Month from Temple Sinai! 🌈 Come celebrate your PRIDE this Friday, June 5th at 6:00 PM for a special Pride Shabbat B’yachad, featuring poems and readings on the topic of q***r Judaism, as well as musical settings by q***r composers. After our service, you are welcome to join us for a pasta and salmon dinner (which you can register for on our website). Happy Pride!
