St. Timothy's is a parish in the Anglican tradition in Summerville SC's Cane Bay area.

Saturday Worship Services are at 5:00pm at 438 Marketplace Drive, Summerville SC 29486 and we join St. Paul’s Reformed Episcopal Church for Bible Study on Wednesday nights at 6:30pm at 260 Farrell Street, Moncks Corner, SC 29461.

This Labor Day weekend, we give thanks to God for the work of our hands.

For some, that work is in an office, a classroom, a jobsite, a kitchen, a hospital, or a store. For others, it is caregiving, volunteering, praying, serving, rebuilding, enduring, or simply doing the next faithful thing set before them.

Scripture reminds us to seek the Lord’s blessing on the work of our hands. We do not carry our labor alone. God sees the visible work and the hidden work, the paid work and the unpaid work, the joyful work and the weary work.

If you are thankful, tired, uncertain, or simply in need of rest, you are welcome at St. Timothy’s Anglican Church.

Jesus’ call to follow him is not always an easy one.

In this week’s Gospel, Peter struggles with what Jesus tells the disciples about the road ahead. Jesus corrects him, then speaks plainly: following Christ means taking up our cross and following where he leads.

And yet Peter’s story does not end with getting it wrong. He is still called. Still loved. Still being formed into the disciple Christ knows he can become.

Called to Follow.
Met with Mercy.
Held by Grace.

That same grace is for us, too.

Jesus asks his disciples a question that still reaches us today: “Who do you say that I am?”

Peter answers, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”

Knowing about Jesus is one thing. Knowing him, naming him as Lord, and learning to follow him is the lifelong journey of faith.

Know Him. Name Him. Follow Him.

Whether you have followed Jesus for years, are returning after time away, or are simply wondering who he is, you are welcome to worship with us.

Keep the Faith. Trust His Mercy!

In this week’s Gospel, a woman comes to Jesus with persistent faith, asking for mercy for her daughter. She does not turn away. She keeps trusting that the One before her is able to help.

There are times when faith looks like that. We keep praying. We keep reaching toward Christ. We keep trusting His mercy, even when the road is difficult.

The wind was strong. The waves were rising. Fear began to take hold.

Yet Jesus came to his disciples in the middle of the storm and said, “Take heart; it is I. Do not be afraid.”

The storms we face are real, but we do not face them alone. Christ comes near, calls us to trust him, and reaches out his hand when our courage falters.

When evening came, the disciples saw only scarcity: a hungry crowd and too little food.

Jesus saw people in need. He received what was offered, blessed it, broke it, and gave it away. In his hands, what seemed insufficient became enough to feed everyone.

Bring your needs, your questions, and whatever you have to offer. Christ meets us with compassion.

This week’s Gospel reminds us that the kingdom of heaven is of immeasurable worth.
Jesus speaks of treasure hidden in a field and a pearl of great value. His words invite us to see that life with God is not small or ordinary, even when it is quietly discovered. What God gives is worth seeking, receiving, and holding fast.

In Jesus’ parable, wheat and weeds grow side by side. The servants want to act quickly, but the master tells them to wait.

It is a reminder that God sees more clearly than we do. We do not have to sort everyone out, pronounce judgment, or force every answer. We are called to remain faithful, trust God’s wisdom, and keep growing in grace.
