We’ve all experienced the gap between what we expected and what we’re actually living.

Yesterday, Pastor Josh Surratt walked us through John 11 and the three false assumptions we make when life doesn’t go the way we planned.

ASSUMPTION #1: If God loves me, I won’t suffer.
REALITY #1: My circumstances do not determine God’s disposition toward me.
Jesus loved Martha, Mary, and Lazarus. And when He heard Lazarus was sick, He stayed where He was two more days. His love is not swayed by our situation.

ASSUMPTION #2: If God doesn’t act quickly, He isn’t acting.
REALITY #2: God’s timing is not limited by my deadline.
Jesus said, “Are there not twelve hours of daylight? Anyone who walks in the daytime will not stumble.” A delay is not a denial. He’s on a different timetable.

ASSUMPTION #3: If I’m suffering, God must have caused it.
REALITY 3: God doesn't have to cause my pain to redeem my pain.
Sometimes suffiring is simply the result of a fallen world. But God can use what He didn’t create.

“I will not let what I don’t understand change what I know about God." What is one thing you know to be true about God, even in the middle of what you don’t understand?

Jesus doesn’t see you as part of a crowd.

He knows your name. He knows your story. He knows where you’ve been and where you’re going.

Today, wherever you are, He’s calling you by name.

How has God opened your eyes to His pursuit of you?

It’s good to know you’re trying to follow Jesus. But there are moments when you have to realize that He has been orchestrating so many different events to run after your heart.

God made a plan to run after you before you even knew it.

You’re not an accident.
You’re not forgotten.
The Good Shepherd knows your name.

The Good Shepherd made a plan to run after you.

Yesterday, Joel Delph took us through John 10, one of the most beautiful pictures in Scripture, with Jesus as the Good Shepherd who knows His sheep by name and lays down His life for them.

Here’s what we’re carrying into the week:
• He knows your name. “He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.” Jesus doesn’t see you as part of a crowd. He knows you personally.
• He made a plan to run after you. God orchestrated events in your life to pursue your heart long before you knew Him. You’re not an accident. You’re not forgotten.
• The evidence is overwhelming. “Though John never performed a sign, all that John said about this man was true. And in that place many believed in Jesus.” The evidence of Jesus’ goodness is why we trust the Good Shepherd.

First ever Regional Worship Team Night is in the books!!

Tonight, our platform and production teams from Seacoast Church - Summerville, Seacoast Church - Summers Corner, and Seacoast Church - Cane Bay gathered for a night of encouragement, connection, and growth.

We spent time remembering why we do what we do: to create worship environments that help people encounter God without distraction, and to serve together with humility, preparation, and heart.

Grateful for every Dream Teamer who gives their time, energy, and gifts to help people Find God, Grow Their Faith, Discover Their Purpose, and Make a Difference.
