From John: I am back home continuing my recovery process hoping to walk again by August 1st. Thank you so much for prayers.

Today's reading is second Chronicles 34-36.

Second Chronicles 36:22-23 In the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, in order to fulfill the word of the LORD spoken by Jeremiah, the LORD moved the heart of Cyrus king of Persia to make a proclamation throughout his realm and also to put it in writing: "This is what Cyrus king of Persia says, 'The LORD, the God of heaven, has given me all the kingdoms of the earth and has appointed me to build a temple for him at Jerusalem in Judah. Any of his people among you may go up, and may the LORD their God be with them."'

God's grace is amazing. After the 70-year exile he moved at the heart of the great king, Cyrus. Cyrus would build a temple and release God's people to return to Jerusalem. Our heavenly Father did not just move one heart one time. Perhaps yours?

My prayer today: Spirit of the Living God fall fresh on me. Spirit of the Living God fall fresh on me. Melt me, mold me, fill me, use me. Spirit of the Living God fall fresh on me.

Today's reading is second Chronicles 32-33.

Second Chronicles 32:8 With him is only the arm of flesh, but with us is the LORD our God to help us and to fight our battles. And the people gained confidence from what Hezekiah the king of Judah said.

Our struggle is not against flesh and blood. The arm of flesh can only do so much. In spiritual warfare It will not prevail.

My prayer today: Stand up, stand up for Jesus, stand in his strength alone; the arm of flesh will fail you, ye dare not trust your own. Put on the gospel armor, each piece put on with prayer; where duty calls or danger be never wanting there.

Today's reading is second Chronicles 29-31.

2nd Chronicles 30:27 The priests and the Levites stood to bless the people, and God heard them, for their prayer reached heaven, his holy dwelling place.

Do you ever feel like your prayers don't get past the ceiling? I do. That is when I realize that God's faithfulness is so much greater than my feelings.

My prayer today: Lord listen to your children praying, Lord send your Spirit in this place. Lord listen to your children praying, send us love, send us power, send us grace.

Today's reading is second Chronicles 26-28.

Second Chronicles 26:16 But after Uzziah became powerful, his pride led to his downfall. He was unfaithful to the LORD his God, and entered the temple of the Lord to burn incense on the altar of incense.

Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall

My prayer today: Lord, on Thee our souls depend; in compassion now descend; fill our hearts with Thy rich grace, tune our lips to sing Thy praise. In Thine own appointed way, now we seek Thee, here we stay. Lord, we know not how to go, till a blessing Thou betow.

Family Community day at the Summerville Church of Christ was a hit! We had around 60 in attendance with half of those attending being kids! 😍

These kids and “big” kids had so much fun tonight cooking out, making s’mores, playing kickball, volleyball, Gaga ball, doing a little singing, and learning about Jesus! Lots of laughs & a great time was had by all! ✝️🩷🙌

Today's reading is second chronicles 23-25.

2nd Chronicles 25:9 Amaziah asked the man of God, "But what about the hundred talents I paid for these Israelite troops?" The man of God replied, "The Lord can give you much more than that."

Have you ever acquired something and then found out you would have been better off without it? It can be a difficult thing to discard something that we have been heavily invested in, even if it is costing us to keep it. When we look at what the Lord has to give us what really can compare? It is time to give up anything that we are invested in that hinders us from receiving God's blessing.

My prayer today: The heaping up of riches to many seems life's goal, but in the eager rush for wealth forgotten is the soul. What shall it profit a man? What shall a profit a man? If he gain the whole world and lose his own soul.
