We would love to have you join us. The Church of Christ was planted in the Summertown community over 100 years ago. We are a group of Christians who love God and each other. We are a congregation of God's people who use the Bible as our guide to Heaven and are trying to be the church described in the New Testament. on-denominational fellowship of believers who are united in a common faith and practice. We accept the Bible as our only guide and we strive to be nothing more and nothing less than followers of Jesus. Our goal is to "restore" the New Testament Church like it was in the beginning. What to expect
Worship services include bible class, singing, praying, the Lord's supper and a sermon. Bible Class: We study with fellow believers in a smaller setting than the main sermon. The congregation breaks up into groups based on their ages. We have classes available for all ages. We meet for bible class in Sunday morning worship as well as the Wednesday evening worship. Singing: As a part of our worship, we participate in congregational singing. The church worships together, praising God through song. Prayer: Several times during worship we are led in prayer, which is our way of speaking to our heavenly father. The Lord's Supper: We partake every Sunday morning, as is commanded, the church takes this time to rememeber the sacrifice that was made for us by Him. During this time, several men of the congregation will pass around unleveaned bread signifying his body, and grape juice signifying his blood. Those who are baptized will partake of these. Sermon: Summertown's preacher, Brother Ricky Glass delivers a meaningful and heartfelt sermon every Sunday. He highlights different parts of the Bible each time we meet in order to help us with our daily Christian walk through life.
