(Aug 23) Join the community in the annual prayer walk for Summersville R-II School District and the Community Christian School. We will begin inside the High School Choir Building at 5:30pm and then go pray for our local schools.

🇺🇸 Supporting Those Who Serve
Summersville Christian Church has the opportunity to bless and encourage the men and women serving our country overseas.
Master Sergeant Keiven Polm, who is currently serving in the Air Force in the Middle East, has requested care package items for military personnel serving alongside him. Keiven's parents, Ken and April Polm of Cabool, will be collecting and shipping the donated items directly to him for distribution.
We will be collecting donations at the church through Sunday, August 2. If you would like to participate, we encourage individual donations as we seek to support and encourage those who faithfully serve our nation.
Suggested donation items include:
Wipes
Energy bars
Cookies and chips
Soda and Gatorade
Energy drinks
Slim Jim's
Gum, Life Savers, and hard candy
Small Rubik's cubes and puzzle items
Hand toys or squishy balls
Small footballs or rubber balls
Small devotional books
Cards and letters of encouragement
Scripture notes
Children's colored pictures
Youth group photos and encouraging messages
Please do not send chocolate, homemade foods, or anything that may melt.
As Christians, we are called to encourage one another and to do good whenever we have the opportunity.

How often do we become discouraged because our eyes are fixed on our failures rather than our Savior?
The Christian life is not sustained by constantly looking inward, but by continually looking to Christ. While we should be aware of our sin, our hope is not found in our performance, but in the perfect righteousness, finished work, and faithful promises of Jesus Christ.

True humility begins when we see God rightly and ourselves rightly.
The more we behold God's holiness, majesty, and glory, the more we recognize our need for His grace. Pride flourishes when we think little of God and much of ourselves. Humility grows when we see the infinite greatness of our Creator and our complete dependence upon Him.

May God grant us a greater vision of His glory and a deeper awareness of our need for Christ.
