Testimony Tuesdays at Celebrate Recover - Sumiton Church of God are definitely one of my favorite parts of the program. This week Tuesday, 05/26/26, at 6:30 P.M. Josh Ballew will be speaking and sharing his testimony. Josh is the recovery pastor at StayFree Ministries. Josh is 39 years young, but he battled with addiction for over 25 years of those 39 years. He has been almost 10 years clean and is serving the Lord. He has been a part of starting 4 different CR programs and 2 new church’s. Josh is a true example of what a completely surrender life to Christ can look like. When we do, He will do great and mighty things in and through us.

If you are wanting to work towards a new start in life and let go of a hurt, habit or hang up. We want to encourage you to come join us Tuesday night.

Celebrate Recovery is not just a 12-step, faith based program, it’s also an outreach ministry that meets the needs of those people with hurts, habits, and hang ups, with food, fellowship and community. We want everyone that comes to feel welcomed, loved, and hopefully find recovery through Christ.

I want to take just a moment to brag on and thank our meal prep, kitchen & serve team at Celebrate Recovery - Sumiton Church of God. They are truly the foundation of our program. The meal prep team comes early each week to prepare and have a great meal ready to be served for everyone to enjoy. The kitchen & serve team sets up and serves the ones who come with kindness and joy. Then after everyone has ate and disbursed, they stay and make sure everything is all cleaned up. This team serves with excellence and that is what helps makes this program successful. Thank you to each one for your Yes!! You are very much appreciated for all that you sacrifice and do. I pray that God rewards you openly for your service.

Celebrate Recovery is where you can find community and freedom from your hurts, habits and hang ups. We meet every Tuesday night.

Tuesday night, May 12th, at 6:30 PM Deanna Sides will be sharing her testimony of just how amazing the Lord has been in her life. Deanna is a graduate from Restoring Women’s Outreach in Cullman, where she is still very involved. She is an active member of Desperation Church Cullman,and serves on the baptism team, and is a graduate of the Leadership Academy at Desperation College. She also goes into the jail in Cullman County on Friday nights and shares her experience,strength and hope. We are excited to have her come. If you are struggling with a hurt, habit, or hang up and want to learn how to become free, let us encourage you to come and be apart of Celebrate Recovery on Tuesday nights. Freedom can be found and you can recover.

This lesson of Celebrate Recovery covers the "Moral" lesson, focusing on Principle 4 and Step 4: making a searching and fearless moral inventory. It emphasizes honestly examining past hurts, habits, and hang-ups to move forward, rather than living in the past. This lesson highlights that "moral" means an honest look at oneself.

Tuesday night, April 14th, is testimony night, and we are honored to have Julie Hall speak at Celebrate Recovery - Sumiton Church of God. Julie Hall and her husband, Danny, are active members of Journey Church Eva. She has been in and around the recovery community for most of her adult life. She has 13 years experience doing ministry work in the non-profit sector. You can find her encouraging weekly messages on Facebook.

Tuesday night, April 7th at 6:30 PM, Jonathan Dodd will be teaching Lesson 7.
This lesson of Celebrate Recovery focuses on the importance of finding a Sponsor and Accountability Partners to support your journey, aligning with Principle 4: "Openly examine and confess my faults to myself, to God, and to someone I trust". This lesson also emphasizes that recovery is not meant to be a solitary journey and requires building a trusted, same-gender support team.

If you are looking for a meeting, community, and a place to find healing for your hurt, habit or hang up, come join us.

A free meal is served from 5:30-6:20 p.m. in our Felloship Hall, then
Worship & Large group follows in the Sanctuary at 6:30 PM
