First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) The First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Sulphur is one of the oldest churches in Calcasieu Parish.

It was first established in 1916 as a mission church to the French Acadians in the region. Their goal was to aid the French Acadians during that time of poverty and to teach English classes to the children. At first we met in a storefront and then, in 1924 on Easter Sunday, the "Little Green Church" was dedicated. The present sanctuary, built largely by church members
was dedicated on January 15, 1968.
