First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) The First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Sulphur is one of the oldest churches in Calcasieu Parish.

It was first established in 1916 as a mission church to the French Acadians in the region. Their goal was to aid the French Acadians during that time of poverty and to teach English classes to the children. At first we met in a storefront and then, in 1924 on Easter Sunday, the "Little Green Church" was dedicated. The present sanctuary, built largely by church members
was dedicated on January 15, 1968.

First Christian Church in Sulphur will have a huge garage sale on Friday April 29 and Saturday April 30 from 7AM til noon. We have a huge assortment of EVERYTHING!!! Here are pictures of those items not priced. Reasonable donations requested. YOU NAME THE PRICE!!!! Contact us if you want to purchase any of these items in advance. We will also have a pool table available. The rug is about 8x10 size. The organ is an antique pump organ and we have it priced at $400. Come check it out.

Tonight at 6pm Jason Oxenrider will be presenting a solo concert at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Sulphur at 1401 Argin St. Jason is from Lumberton MS and a 12 time Male Vocalist of the Year for The Mississippi Quartet Convention among many other honors. He traveled with the award winning family group The Riders for 30 years. There is no charge but a love offering will be received. Everyone is invited.

This Friday June 4 and Saturday June 5 we will have our annual garage sale at First Christian Church at 1401 Argin Street, off of Beglis Parkway. The sale will be from 7am until noon on both days. Please come see what we have. There will be housewares, cds, clothes, books, household items, kitchen appliances, furniture, electronics, and much more. Our garage sales benefit our Benevolence fund which in turn helps our community. Hope to see you there!!!

First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) invites everyone to come visit us on Sunday at 10am. Sunday school begins at 8:30am before worship service.
